RENEWAL ALL INDIA LICENCE

All India Arms license is to be renewed from home station that made licence or from duty station. If posted in City other than home town, can licence issuing authority of Home Town force you to apply for renewal at your duty station. I am in Army and have landed in this situation where both home town, which issued license and duty station are telling each other to renew the license.

After the introduction of arms rules 2016, the renewing authority is the issuing authority,if the licensee has not shifted his residence for 6 months or more,and had not carried the fire arm along with him.
In case ,where The licensee, has shifted residence and carried fire arm with him for 6 months and more,then he is supposed to re register with the licensing authority of the new station,and the new licensing authority will then renew the license.
It’s a very cumbersome process, best avoided if possible.
