Help need to identify the make and model of pistol

Dear Members,

I need help in identifying the model of my Pistol, this got transferred at my name from my Fathers possession. need to buy a new magazine as the existing one is non functional. It will be helpful or me if I know the make and model of this Pistol. Pictures are attached for reference.

The way serial no. is stamped in zig zag way and looking at shape of slide, it looks duplicate pistol to me. Most probably copy of Colt .25 bore.

The details should be mentioned in you father's licence. Please check it. If you don't have the old licence, better take the pistol to a gunsmith he will help you out.

This is Likely to be 1908 Colt Vest Pistol. but I am sure Lot of reconstruction has been done on it. Chances of being fake is small because .25 Bore is very uncommon in fake gun market.
1. The Slide is definitely replaced in past as the Company markings and the Sl. No is clearly wiped out from there.
2. The Grip is also different from Original from Colt.
3. The Two Notch in the Right of Slide is not in original colt model
4.The Serial No is not in any help as colt side Do not Recognize it.

Check your Fathers Documents for further details.

Fake makers wouldn't go through the trouble of creating a grip safety I guess. Also I agree with Mr. Dasgupta about the caliber.No one in the right mind would make a fake pistol in .25 Bore.This one to me looks more like a salvaged Baby Colt or FN pocket pistol which an enterprising gunsmith has tried to restore with his own expertise, limited resources and means. IMHP.
I would think twice before shooting live ammo through it though.

With due respect to Mr Shivaji Dasgupta, the pistol could be a Spanish imitation fo the Colt and FN .25 ACP (a.k.a 6,35 mm).

During WW1 the French industries never succeeded in producing enough firearms and the French Government bought abroad a large amount of weapons.
Moreover, European officers used to buy the handgun instead of receiving a Government issued one.
WW1 was a unique occasion for Spanish industries, because the country was neutral and the workforce was not mobilized.
