6 shot grouping (instead of 5 as I forgot to capture)
Added in 3 minutes 23 seconds:
10 shot grouping (Got the flyers post changing the position [emoji19] )

If it is hand held then it is too good.
If it is bench rested then it is good.
Presuming tgt was at 10 yds

Re: CAN-ON : The Kolkata made AR
Basu da, It was 25 ft approx bench rested. Till date I had been using free hand for past 1 week switched to bench rested.
Groups could had been better with a stable hand.
I am a plinker who shoots for just the kick of it.

Re: CAN-ON : The Kolkata made AR
Nice groups.
Short stroke guns are most forgiving (with reg to accuracy); and the Can-On 35 in its original form is essentially a short stroke one.
In sitting and rested positions, the grouping should improve further. I know, having trieD this gun in diff tunes and strokes. On a good day, it gives hole in hole at 12mtrs. Just be extra careful with the trigger.
One more thing of interest for tuners: this gun has a curiously slanted breech face + a slanted and tapered TP (with a very short outlet)....pretty unusual for our local brands.
Thanks

Re: CAN-ON : The Kolkata made AR
DearPrassnt,
Only on IHP I have seen breech is completely at 90°.
Apart from that most Indian ARs have slanted breech area.
IHP has straight transfer port which tend to cut the synthetic seal.
Most of Kolkata made ARs have tapered TP .In some the tepering starts from absolute centre of the cylinder and in some , a little off centre.
I have observed that too many changes of gun , reduces the performance of shooter.

Re: CAN-ON : The Kolkata made AR
Perhaps you may want to re-check this wrt SDB air rifles, Basu Da! IHP may be passe now!
In all the SDBs I have, the breech faces on the base block (and therefore also, the TP outer face) look very much at 90*. It is in fact so obvious that it never occurred to me to ever measure the angle.
Also, the TP in all these guns are neither tapered nor slanted ...they are straight cylindrical conduits placed right midway from the centre to the top of the cylinders.
Am travelling out...but I will measure the exact angle on the base block first thing when I reach home in a coupe of days.
Do pls correct me in the meantime!

As I can recall , that they have off-center transfer port and have a tad uppish angle.

Re: CAN-ON : The Kolkata made AR
Yes, you are right, Basu da! It turns out the angle is some 85*-86* inward from the top at the breech in SDB. The one in Can-On is a tad tighter (some 82*). And while this slant is greater, it certainly ain't as pronounced as I had thought of it! Thank you for the timely alert and helping clear it out. Also, the leverage from the barrel screw is shorter than in SDB models.
Thanks again!

Today i m going to upgrade my ihp .22 with gsmith piston seal & model 35 spring. but sir basu & briha i dont know in which oil i have to soak the g smith leather seal before install for less diselieng or detonation..baba bb petelier frm prymid air tell use silicone chamber oil. but i cant find it in india but there any many other silicone oil dont which to use..& also tell me which oil to put in chamber after 500-1000 shots in my ihp rifles & percihole my ihps have leather seal...i also have percihole moly grease..give me knowlege

Re: CAN-ON : The Kolkata made AR
Dear Bagga,
IHP goes well with leather seal.
You can not avoid dieseling as long as you are using leather seal.
No oil can continue to stay till eternity without being burnt.
I used to dip the leather seal in coconut oil for 2 days.
Then while mounting it on piston , soak the extra oil on tissue papers.
I understand that Gsmith 35 springs are too powerful and with this , shots may go wayward.
I prefer to use original IHP 35 spring.
Please remember that IHP is designed to be 8-9 ftlbs AR.Any thing excess to to that will result in uncomfortable shooting experience.
There are many post regarding tuning of ARs, including mine.
I wish you to go through them and use your judgement.
Happy shooting.
BTW...how frequently you shoot 350 Mag ??

Re: CAN-ON : The Kolkata made AR
Basu sir,
today i have changed installed my ihp 35. 22 with new gsmith leater piston seal ( soaked in semi synthetic car engine oil 24h ) & gsmith 35 spring.
rifle detonate for 20-25 shots like firearm then dieseling mean still give smoke for 20 shots...then normal to 100 shots after that
i compare it with my other ihp 35 .22 rifle ( i have 2 of them ) which is brand new very less used...after install gsmith seal & 35 spring.
power is same i compare it by book penetration.. but cocking is heavy & rifle is 15-20 % less accurate..bcs its jerk with strong spring..
can u plz tell why there is less change in power do i need cut coils of the spring
...is cherokke 27 or gsmith 27 spring is good then gsmith 35 spring.. plz answer
and also i use 350 mag only once a week bcs it so much costly & i take care of it so much its so much power full also...

Re: CAN-ON : The Kolkata made AR
Dear Bagga,
I experienced the same with my SDB 45.
A harder spring delivered lesser power.
I guess a harder spring causes piston bounce and that subsequently drops the peak pressure .
It is not possible to advise you over forum as to how to make the gun accurate.
A IHP spring is always perfered as it is exactly meant for this gun.
Too hard cocking without output is of no use.
There you may have to reduce the free length of the spring by at least two coils.
A 26-27 cms free length may be perfect for IHP.
However I have never used Gsmith so it is a simple guess work.

Re: CAN-ON : The Kolkata made AR
use a precihole spring and washer in ihp.It will feel smoother to cock and fire.
