Yes sir,Its always better to collect Quality blade from reputed bladesmith as an investment. And people who do outdoor adventures should always rely on a Quality blade.I would never explore woods with a low quality blade.

Knife collection usually starts with buying cheap blades as the knowledge grows people start collecting quality blades. But today thanks to internet new collectors need not start their collection from cheap blades as there is lots of knowledge available in different forums regarding blade material.

Yeah I know these, I see them on Instagram pretty often
From what I gleaned from my friends in the Bladesmith community, these are often Run-of-the-mill productions with more focus on aesthetic and quantity as opposed to quality... They're okay for collection and as wall hangers but not so much Utility wise... Take the one with the Green Cord wrap, for example. The balance is going to be horrible. Take the one to it's left, and the tang hurts you. Same with the three Trench blades, with knuckle dusters in the handle. I'm sure holding the knife will hurt the user before anyone else. Brass Pommel and Bolster seems nice though.

Re: New Design of Knife and Other sharp weapons
Dear Peacelover, You are right. Its always the Quality that matters. These blades just catch my attention over net. For me, From Last 30 years since my school days I am using different short of blades and other Sharp weapons. I never brought a Single blade from any renowned blade smith (Except few Victorinox). I Mostly require them in Our Farms where guards and workers demands Weapons like Talwar, Tangi, Bhala or Spear (as they need to stay near jungle and Always exposed to different hazards) Different sort of Axe. Bows and Arrows. Daw. Etc.
I have a Khukri brought at rs.20/ 25 long back around 1990 or 89 with a buffalo horn handle and 15" blade. I have used it for Cutting Fire wood to Goat and boar. Still the shining of the metal is very intact. In our school days Rampuri folders cost hardly 10/15 Rs. and again the metal is in very good condition.
I Used to buy some Car leaf Springs from Scrap yards hardly Cost me few Hundred Rs. and Give that to my Blacksmith with order of What to make. Within a day or two I get my required Weapon. and Trust me At my Home we have Talwars Daw and Spears made by local black smiths More than 100 yrs old, Even today they are as sharp as a new weapon. For me this are necessities rather than an adventure equipment and going to forest is also a daily work so my primary objective is to focus on Quality of the weapon like its metal, Heat Treatment forging etc st that it can last long with rough use.
Few Pics of my Blades which I have at present in my cell.
Mostly old blades, The Rampuris are almost history now.
Regards.

ha ha ha, Bhai, I am always a law abiding citizen.
Here we have Jal, Jangal Jamin Act. You can move in Forests with any sort of Traditional Weapons like Bow and Arrows, Axe, Tangi or fish tailed axe. Bhala or timuha ( Spear or Trident Spear) but not the fire arms.
You can also keep them in any No. ( luckily no guide line so far) as long as you are staying in Rural area ( Gramin kshetra ), You can even hunt classified vermin's ( Right now jack rabbits, common Fruit Bats, Squirrels, Wild boars and of course a variety of birds are in the list) in and near by your agri lands. For other animals you need to file a complain to local mukhia and a copy of complain attested by mukhia need to produce at forest dept. office.
After that either forest dept. will arrange to chase away the wild folks to their area or you " May" get a permit for clean up. if no action taken then you can claim compensation for your crop loss to appropriate authorities.
Regards.
