Small sections of picatinny rails which can be screwed to the stock are easily available online. Bipods which can be fitted to picatinny rails are also available.

I stopped at 70th shot because light became too low for the chrony to read the shots. This rainy season we are having too much rains and weather is changing within minutes.Rajorshi wrote:Another thing.
The shot string graph shows that at shot 70, you are still going up. Maybe you can get 10-20 more out it? From your first shot string report, I see that it did go up to 80 shots with room to spare.
A note on my previous post: Looking at the shot string, I now understand that this is indeed unregulated. Makes sense - to me, at least.

I don't understand. Your hammer Spring has weakened and yet you are now getting more power than before? Your prior report indicates you were getting max. 13.8 FPE.
PS: have not watched the video, in case the answer to my question is there.
I am getting this power at 200 BAR and as pressure decreases..................
JSBs are the best
please share the nature of this tweak?

The JSB 8.44 looks better to me, but I really don't know; the pressure used is different for all 3 pellets. What's your conclusion from the above?

Here are today's chrony results of different pellets at the same starting pressure of 150 BAR. All the strings are 10 shots. Gun was filled back to 150 BAR for each string.

Okay. It's a toss between the JSB 8.44 and the 10.34. I would pick the 10.34 if accuracy is similar with both pellets. Else 8.44.
Thanks for posting all this info. Which one do you prefer by the way?

The JSB Monsters need a stiffer hammer spring, from the looks of it.

and a lower pressure in this gun. But JSB 8.44 and 10.34 are my choice for long range field target type shooting. Both are very accurate.

Spring getting compressed / not being pre compressed should be a concern as under normal circumstances particularly for a pcp one of the key characteristics is the ability to keep the gun cocked state. Just may be a small quality issue but its important.

Re: Review: Precihole PX100 Achilles
Nobody keeps a spring which determines the power of the gun in compressed state in any type of gun for a month. If you keep any spring in compressed state it weakens. In springers we scragg a new spring for may be 4 to 6 hours to make the gun settle faster. In a PCP if you keep the hammer spring in cocked condition like I foolishly did the spring will weaken and the gun 's power will decrease. I contacted Dr.Shirsat about this issue and he told me that they would improve the hammer spring so that it would withstand this kind of abuse and the gun would not loose power.

Re: Review: Precihole PX100 Achilles
The characteristic you refer to is more applicable to hunters - they prefer not having to cock the gun when they are too close to the quarry. But even they are not leaving the gun cocked for hours; its just a few minutes. Leaving the spring cocked for so long - basically 24/7 for a month, which is what GNV appears to have done - will obviously weaken the spring to a degree, no matter how good it is.hawk31981 wrote:Spring getting compressed / not being pre compressed should be a concern as under normal circumstances particularly for a pcp one of the key characteristics is the ability to keep the gun cocked state. I think GNV has inadvertently conducted a quality control check so rigorous on the spring, that even its makers would never have done.

So much as the PCP, is the review of this excellent Indian gun!! A word of applause for the terrific lot of passionate people we have on IFG. These were equally supplemented by very pertinent yet probing queries from knowledgeable members all the while. Great show ! My regards to all,
Prashant

GNV, Is the price inclusive of custom duty. Was there any trouble getting it delivered to you, like usual custom hassles ?
