GenNex Velocity testing by SimpChrony
Our fellow IFgian has developed a low cost chrony , called as SimpChrony and sent the same to me to measure pellet velocity.
I powered it by Power Bank and got readings with various pellets after 1000 shots.
SimpChrony found to be very easy to use particularly in hot summer since it does not require light .
I tested it , sitting in my drawing room only .This AR well tuned and super accurate.
Details are as under :
This is the sweetest AR out of all ARs I hv so far used.

Looks like our chronograph problems will come to an end.
What is the procedure for measuring velocity with SimpChrony? And how does it operate?

Dear sam47,
I am illiterate about these gadgets.
All I know there are two detector beams in the same line.
Once the projectile cuts through one beam, the clock starts and when second beam is passed the clock stops.
Distance is already fed in the system only milisecond input varies , that gives the velocity.

Hi Basuda
Now i cant imagine the amount of fine tuning that Gennex will undergo since u have one of the most important tool for airgunners with you .
of course that simpchrony is very trustworthy as it was compared with my COMBRO CB-625 Mk4 chronograph & the result was pretty accurate & consistent.

Moulindu ....I wish if I could.......
you are master in turning a springer in 2 fpe PCP.
Inspired by you....Harsha is also in the process to make his 23 a 2 fpe PCP.
He decided that the cocking effort should not be more than gravitational pull of his hand .

For information about simpChrony you can refer to topic. https://www.indiansforguns.com/viewtopi ... 7&start=45.
Now the display is improved with option to display avg velocity . maximum, minimum and standard deviation..it's easy to operate in indoors as because no external light source is required..and can be powered by mobile phone charger or power bank.thank you basu da for your love and support...

I guess this is in the spirit of make in India initiative. Congratulations Harsh! Basu has told me a lot about your Chrony. The last three years have seen a paradigm shift in access to good stuff locally in the form of good springers (PH, SDB and AARMAR) and PH's own home grown PCP. Now we have a Chrony developed in Bharath. I hope supply is on the cards.
