IOF pump action 12GA shotgun manufactured 2017

Greetings Gentlemen,

Yesterday I came to know that the IOF pump action 12GA shotgun manufactured 2017 has been delivered to the AA dealers to be sold to the bank security personnel. From the pics I presume that it has a 20 inch barrel, black synthetic stock and possibly an aluminium receiver.
Has any member seen/handled this gun ? A feed back would be welcome.

Since barrel is 20 inch. Will the gun sold to civilians ?

I did ask guards of my bank who carries normal dougle barrel other caries Pump action gun.They told me Indian Pumpaction is big junk the man with Pump action told me he did not know wther the gun will fire or miss or burst.Many bank guards in head offices who r given these guns have told the officials about defects of these guns.These guards say the normaldbbl guns r safer and more reliable these r views of persons who owns these guns.So be careful while buying these guns .

You are right dsingh ji. Even I have faced the problems while I got an opportunity to fire an IOF pump action.
1 cartridge didn't cycle well
2 ejection system malfunction .
I doubt that safety is sufficient to block the hammer .

Those were the problems with the older models. My post is specific to the year 2017 model. Sometime back IFG member "TC" informed about a newer model being developed at RFI Calcutta on lines of a Winchester or Remington pump action. I believe this is the model. The minimum smooth bore barrel length allowed to civilians is 20 inches.

Below from RFI website, they haven't mentioned whether they are selling thru AA dealers or directly.
However, AA dealers in Delhi have recieved new PAG stocks and selling to bank guards.....they say it would be available to civilians April onwards.

12 BORE PUMP ACTION GUN



The 12 Bore Pump Action Gun has been specially developed for use as a security weapon. It is a single barrel breach loading weapon superior to 12 Bore DBBL. It is provided with a tubular magazine, which holds 4 nos. of 12 Bore Cartridges and is placed parallel to and below the barrel. Extraction, loading and cocking of the cartridges take place in a single 'pump action' by operating handle, sliding along the magazine. Due to rapid reloading by pump action and spread of shots, it is an ideal weapon for counter ambush tactics.

The revised Pump Action, like its earlier avatar, remains a near identical copy of the Mossberg 500. Apart from minor mechanical changes, the only major change appears to be the material of the receiver which earlier was IS:617 aluminium alloy, now it is constructed out of an investment cast BS:3146-1 steel.

Presumably, the trigger housing, it's top is a critical bearing surface, will also be of a similar steel composition.

From the above article:

“Each gun will retail for around ₹ 75,000, inclusive of taxes,” said a dealer.

Also, the new gun has been given a ferrous metal receiver and not the lighter aluminium one seen earlier.

Interestingly, the gun has prominent front and back sights seen on rifles that fire single projectiles at much higher velocity and with pin-point accuracy.

Given RFI's production capacity and speed and the commitment to produce 11,000 guns for State Bank of India, there should not be any reason for RFI to sell this to civilians right now. But there is a big catch here, as you must have seen in my report. SBI has to take delivery of the guns from dealers only and not directly from RFI !

An arms dealer in Delhi has already started advertising in social media gun forums that he has has stocked enough 2017 models for public sale. So I guess you can go ahead
