Canon LG65 Help

Dear gunlovers,

I have inherited a CANON make LG65 airgun from my uncle who passed away recently. The gun has a problem with its trigger assembly. the sear which locks on to the piston catch was worn away and the only local gunsmith at Tinsukia (Md Jalil and Sons) have not been able to fix it. While he did file away a part of the sear to make it straight so that it locks with the piston catch, many a times it doesnot lock on.

I want to preserve the gun for sentimental reasons, can anyone help me with the trihher assembly or suggest a alternate type of trigger.

I donot think any alternate arrangement can be made.
I suggest you to use another piston which has heartened sear.
Hope the same can be done by you gunsmith.

That's a heavy but very very accurate gun. I have one.
Do post some clear pictures of the internals in question.
It would give a clearer idea on what can be done.
If you have never opened a springer, please seek help. Don't do it alone the first time.

Big daddy, I will post pics of the internals soon. In the meantime can you let me know if the breech seal would be available online for purchase and also is any other piston can be used. Because the local gunsmith told me that only leather piston washer can be fitted to the existing piston. Synthetic piston seals cannot be installed.

Dear Sirs posting picture of the trigger sear which has worn out I tried to weld some metal to the sear but it seems it was not done well. Is there any way out or the only solution is welding metal and then polishing every 100-150 shots.

Dear Lifewater,
As per my observation , you did not have much problem with trigger sear.
I am very doubtful about the piston sear , that must have worn out most.
You need to check with the angel of piston sear and then , if need be , weld some metal on to it.
Give 90 degree angel to both the interfaces by filing off extra materials.
Please ensure the adjusting screw is totally unscrewed.
Hope the matter will be solved.
I would like to bring in Big Daddy for his views.
Remember......Cannon is known for deadly accuracy , not for power.

Dear Sirs,

Posting pictures of the Piston as advised. Seal seems ruined so also the head.. I have spare UTA35 leather seal with me but the piston head looks different in this one. Should I go for a new piston with synthetic seal of re-use this one.

Lifewater , firstly you need to polish all the internal.
Your seal needs a change. Go for a Diana seal.
Try filing the trigger sear to make it straight. Do it carefully. Piston rod looks ok to me.

Your piston"s sear seems okay to me. I have a couple of triggers for which I have no use. I am posting their picture. If you want them PM me your address and I'll send them to you. I think if you remove the sear part from the trigger blade and fit a sear from one of my triggers and with a little bit of work with a file to alter the size if necessary I think it will work fine.

Aprox, how many mm would it be from the pin hole to the trigger sear.

on one trigger it is about 16 mm from the center of the pin hole to sear and on the other it is about 18 mm.
