Re: Airsoft Thread
thanx for the info and sobo I am a heavy machine gunner and I love to do some airsoft war and events. why pkm because it is full metal including box mag and its 400 fps bro!! and I can upgrade more and more. Ak also sell m60 and M249 saw but prefer pkm and M249 paramilitary. anyone here how to assemble and disassemble an aeg gun?? coz ehobby asia.com replied to me that they will ship fully disassembled aeg and no manual or original box will be send so thats a big problem for me. GBB is far more simple coz they have real gun like parts and many videos related to gbb . Aeg has some complex assembly and disassemble and I asked them about DHL also and they refused to ship it, same answer like redwolf airsoft.

Nice to hear that, where do you host/play airsoft wars/events? People would love to know. Never be afraid to buy a quality polymer gun, not all metals are stronger than all polymers. Many chinese manufacturers make their guns from pot metal(recycled mess) and these guns are extremely brittle, that being said, a SAW would not feel as real or even substantial in a polymer body. FPS doesnt mean anything beyond a certain point and a cheap manufacturer giving high fps in its guns is detrimental to the life of the gun. 400 has become industry standard for aegs, gearbox strength notwithstanding. With a few little weaks, without adding a heavier spring you can up the fps of most aegs by 20-30 fps. I can definitely help you assemble it and i'm sure other experienced members will help too. In the meantime, get a jewellers screw driver set, a phillips screw driver, silicon lube, electric grease, thread tape and an exacto knife. If possible a dremel too.

Re: Airsoft Thread
Hi Jackie, A dremel to round the edges of the gearbox. Most gearbox have sharp angles where the piston meets the cylinder head and the repeated impacts creates a hairline fracture at that point after a few thousand rounds. Rounding those four edges distributes the load better and elongates the life of the gearbox shell, something extremely important for folks in our country where gettnig spare parts is extremely difficult. Also, many factory installed gearboxes are a tight press fit and if they disassemble it, it can become difficult to put it back together if you dont want to hammer the gearbox in. Slightly shaving the lower reciever at the mating points will make reinstall a breeze.

Sobo, Is it red or yellow edges you talking about? If possible, can you attach a finished pic?Sobo wrote: ..Rounding those four edges distributes the load better and elongates the life of the gearbox shell..
I'm in the process of putting together a V3 gearbox at the moment. Instead of stock plastic spring guide, i'm using a steel one with that thick bearing but that's messing with compressed stock spring length & sector gear fails to complete a turn. Is there a fix other than cutting spring end?
Jackie, Dremel is like a must have for anything DIY. Helps keep the work neat & one can use it like a precision tool with the right accessories.

Re: Airsoft Thread
Thanx, these Chinese guns are cheap ik that but I decided pkm after watching many review videos on youtube and these guns can be upgraded to high quality metal coz many companies sell full metal parts like springs, gearboxes and barrels and much more, even a real wood stock and grip. If you think ak is not so good then go for Aries stoner lmg coz its more awesome, it even has a different battery slot for box mag so no worries. In fps there are different rules related to different countries regarding fps that's 400 is big for me in India there are no such rules for airsoft so you can upgrade it as much as you want and about events I do all these wars in paintball site or near my home. I want to buy these guns but these customs are making me angry .
And soon I will start a airsoft event in my college too if possible

Re: Airsoft Thread
Sandy,
You want to round the yellow edges, give it a 0.1" radius. googled image, but you get the idea.
I havnt seen that problem before, does the spring guide bearing push the spring ahead a bit? Do not cut the spring, it will drop your fps and cause other problems. The solution may be to correct the angle of engagement on the piston by shaving a tooth and half shaving the second one but this needs more diagnosis, can you post a pic of the assembled gearbox, that may tell us some more. A V3 gearbox is inherently stronger than a V2 gearbox.
Yes a dremel and a table vice is the best investment I have made in airsoft.
Jackie, real steel is usually the name for real weapons but I can feel your excitement too.
Yes Ares LMG is a great gun, if you have the money, go for it. Hahahaha, i remembered what some airsoft AK makers claimed to be real wood. They used the wood from the crates and pallets that the parts from the suppliers came in, polished it and called it "real wood". Always take claims from airsoft manufacturers with a pinch of salt. hahahahah do not abuse the absence of rules. Best of luck brother, let me know if I can help spread the word.
I have a question, I finally found the time to read the Draft Arm rules act 2015. In a category it says "air rifles/weapons exceeding 20 joules". Is this correct or is it "...not exceeding..20 joules". If its the latter, this may be good news for us. Would love to discuss more about this.

I do not use tapatalk but im sure we can figure out a way to communicate.
Hemant, I'm going to copy-paste the rule-set to one of the events here and we can discuss it. And for aeg vs gbb, go for aegs. GBBs cost way too much money to run maintain buy and usually do not provide any performance edge over good aegs. Unless you're a headcase like me and like as much recoil and realism as possible.
Big changes are.. SEMI AUTO ONLY!!! Unless a true world support weapon.
Medic Rule changes. (Demo VIdeo coming soon)
Chrono rule change. All chrono will take place using .25 bbs. New chono limit is 366.0 This is a hard limit!! (400 with .20)

• Boots, Hydration, full seal googles, Dead rag are all needed.
• Bad sportsmanship will result in possible ejection from event.
We will be enforcing the letter of the rules as well as the spirit of the rules.
ALL players must attend safety briefings, failure to do so mean you may not enter play until you have been briefed by staff.... and that is based on when we have time to brief you.
Spamming or Voxing the Staff channel will get you booted from OP it is for staff use and for emergency use only Listening in on Other teams Channels is not allowed and will get you booted from OP
Hit Rules:
• If you are hit, FALL DOWN or TAKE A KNEE (standing while wounded is not permitted). Do not rhino or be the human shield for your team.
• Remove your hand from your gun and put on your dead rag/glow stick.
• DO NOT TALK. NO RADIO USE! You may call for a medic.
• Bleed out is (5) minutes, then head to spawn (YOU MUST WAIT YOUR ENTIRE 5 MINUTES!). DO NOT TALK OR USE YOUR RADIO UNTIL YOU REACH YOUR SPAWN!

You must return to your spawn with your dead rag/Glow STICK on after you bleed out, Check in with respawn staff so they may record your name and then return to the play.
NON Mobil SPAWNS cannot be taken. We will warn you to back off from a spawn, failing to back off a respawn we will call your squad out if you are too close to the opposing team’s spawn.
• DO NOT SHOOT AT ANYONE WITH A DEADRAG/GLOW STICK ON! As a dead player do not use yourself as cover for your teammates.
Medic Rules:
Each player must provide their own ace type bandage.
A medic may heal any player by using ace type bandage.
A player may be healed twice before he must return to respawn.
Medics may carry 5 extra Bandages.
You may not be healed without a dead rag out and at least a knee on ground.
The medic is the true force Multiplier....one warrior is in fact 3 if you have a good medic.
General Rules of Engagement:
I. Rules of Engagement in the AO (Area of Operations)
A. There may be civilians in the AO. Civilians may be interacted with, may have knowledge or Intel, may be bargained with for help or real estate, Etc… Remember, you don’t get anything for free. You MAY NOT physically search (hands on…) ANYONE unless they consent! You may however “search” them by coming within arm’s reach, reaching out toward them and stating you are doing a “physical search”. Any Intel or weapons they may have concealed on them would have to be revealed at that time.
You MUST be within arm’s reach and control the situation before you can do a “search”. They do NOT have to comply if not within arm’s reach and controlled however, and could choose to run away.
Civilians may or may not be armed, may play various roles, may or may not be hostile, and may or may not have Intel or useful information.
Civilians may be bargained with, may form allegiances, etc… They may have medics and follow the same medic/regen rules as all players. They WILL NOT regen on the spot, but will have a separate point to go to away from each Company. In the event they have been “contracted” to fight for one side or the other, they may choose to use the same regen point(s) as the side they are fighting for.
COLD Smoke grenades may be used
Trigger walking breaks the spirit of the rules and is not allowed.
If you shoot your weapon on FULL AUTO, even by mistake, then you are OUT immediately. You must pull your red rag and go to regen immediately…you are not allowed to wait for a Medic if you violate this rule. Penalties, regen time penalties, etc… for such infractions may be accessed.
1) Head shots are STRONGLY discouraged! Aim for center mass.
Using M203’s, with BB’s only (as designed) is fine, and can be shot at players (multiple BB’s fired from M203’s, CAW’s revolver, are OK, but be mindful of engagement distances.
Door jams, cracks, holes, etc… should not be used to give you a protected fire zone. The cheese factor makes for an un-fun time.
Unsportsmanlike Conduct – Unsportsmanlike conduct will be penalized by deducting completed objective credits (minus varying amounts depending on the infraction) from the offending party’s Company’s total.
The offending player may also be sent directly to regen (staff’s choice of site), accessed a time penalty, removed from that scenario, or removed from the event altogether depending on the infraction. The offending player’s name, Company, Platoon, and Squad will be written down.
Examples of unsportsmanlike conduct are: Not calling your hits, Yelling repeatedly and loudly at others to call their hits (not necessary, just mind your own hits), cussing and yelling at other players or staff, playing with a hot (over the limit) gun, or any other behavior deemed unbecoming and Detrimental to the event.
STAFF WILL BE actively looking for infractions and ENFORCING penalties for infractions. Blatantly disregarding hits will be viewed as grounds for dismissal from the event immediately! Don’t be the one that cost your Company the game by a few credits because of a stupid mistake or loss of temper.
Three (3) “Strikes” or offenses (any level…) by the same player and they are OUT of the event. No refunds, no returns, no questions. Depending on the infraction, steps/strikes may be skipped and they may be ejected from the event immediately. ANY safety Rules violation, IE: fighting, Threatening a player or staff lack of proper PPE will count as your 3 strikes all at once.
CORE Rules:
1-1 Conduct
1-1 Airsoft is a game of HONOR. Please call YOUR OWN hits!
1-2 Do NOT call opposing team players out.
1-3 Players caught attempting to cheat will incur penalty points for their side, and may be ejected from the game without refund and barred
1-4 Players who attempt to steal, cause bodily harm, or otherwise break the law will be referred to local law enforcement officers and barred.
1-5 Subordinate players should observe and respect ranks such as Squad Leaders, Platoon Leaders, and of your Commanding Officer.
2-1 Game play safety
2-1 Eye protection (5-4) must be worn at all times while in a playing area.
2-3 NO blind firing. You must be able to see with your own eyes where your gun is pointed (no using mirrors or devices to shoot around obstacles).
2-4 “BANG BANG!”
2-4.1 If a player enters a close range situation where firing his weapon could result in unnecessary harm to an opposing player, AND he/she has the target “dead to rights,” use the “Bang, Bang!” rule.
2-4.2 “Bang, Bang!” is a safety call ONLY. It is NOT a way of killing someone tactically.
2-4.3 If a player says “Bang, Bang!” to you, you should honor the call and immediately pull out your red rag. If said player was particularly sneaky, it is appropriate to honor the kill by “quietly dying” to not give away that player’s position.
2-4.4 Do not use “Bang Bang!” in a situation where it could be disputed by a fellow player. If you do not have the target “100% no chance of survival/dead”, closer than or inside of 10 feet from behind the opposed player, do not say “Bang, Bang!” You can call “parley” and both player can back up 25 ft and engage again.
CHRONO RULES
3-1.1 Velocity reducers are NOT allowed.
3-1.2 Players should report to the chrono station with an empty mag for each weapon. The Event staff member will insert the testing BB’s in the empty mag.
REGULAR CHRONO
3-1.3 All weapons will be chronographed using .25 gram BB’s.
OK < 366 fps NO GO > 366.01 fps
NO Weapons may have ROF greater than 30 BPS
HPA / Gas
HPA /GAS Weapons shall use Joules to chrono we will Use .25g BB's to do the Chrono.
All spot checks on HPA will be done with Joules; your max Joules will be 1.55 Joules.
Dmr 400fps with a .25 at 1.86j permanently modded to semi auto 50ft engagement
Sniper bolt action 490fps with a .25 at 2.81j 100ft engagement
3-1.12 ALL WEAPONS CAN BE SUBJECTED TO SPOT CHECKS AT ANY TIME.
3-8 HAND GRENADES:
3-8.1 Escort gas powered, AHG-01 (or subsequent versions), and AI Tornado BB hand grenades are approved for OP use (only). Other brands on a case by case basis, please ask. Thunder B’s may not be loaded with BB's PEA type grenades and firework type flash bangs are not allowed. NO REAL FLASHBANGS OR TRAINING FLASH BANGS AT ANY TIME.
3-8.3 Hand grenades must be tossed UNDERHAND, and should not be thrown more than head high (six feet) off the ground. NO BASEBALL THROWS. Nor may they be thrown off a roof. All Grenades have a 10 foot kill radius, Grenades that eject BB’s have radius plus any BB from it even outside radius.
3.9 You may not at any time load any type of powder or liquid into your grenades.
3-9 MINES and BOOBY TRAPS:
3-9.1 Players may bring and use claymore mines under the following conditions:
a. They are spring/electric/mechanically powered (no CO2).
b. Use remote detonators - no tripwires (note: staff laid traps may use wires).
c. Use is governed by the same safety rules as AEGs. No use on targets closer than 10 feet IE: NO POINT BLANK BOOMS!
3-10.4 Hand Grenade BB firing grenades MUST strike a player (directly or indirectly) with a BB to count as a kill. These are NOT blast radius kill weapons. BB firing claymores/mines MUST strike a player with a BB to count as a kill.
3-10.5 Airsoft BB firing Claymore Mines are classified directional weapons (NOT area effect), and their BB’s must strike the target to count.
3-11 Absolute NO personal pyrotechnics, flares, open flames, or similar devices at OP. IF it burns, it’s a no go.
3-11.1 There will be area effects, Staff will be there to assure effects.
3-12 BB LOADING DEVICES and Mags:
3-12.2 Manual loaders (pistol or mag loaders, tubes, etc.) are unrestricted and may be used anywhere.
4-1 “Kill” or “HIT” Rules:
4-1.1 One Shot: You’re dead. A hit to any part of the body or gear attached to it by a BB constitutes a “kill”. Gun hits DO NOT count.
4-1.5 Grenades: Judging from previous Ops, rubber grenades and tennis balls are no longer allowed. The only grenades allowed are BB-firing grenades. Conserve them and use them at your own risk. Grenades are to be lobbed, thrown under hand, or rolled into rooms. They are NEVER to be thrown overhand or baseball style. BB’s from a grenade MUST STRIKE A PLAYER DIRECTLY or INDIRECTLY (such as a ricochet off a wall) in order for a player to be “hit” or “killed”. If it went off beside you and you didn’t feel it you should take the hit anyway as most grenades do not have much impact force.
5-4 UNIFORM CODE
5-4.1 Your official Uniform includes all of the following:
a. Company specific BDU top (if applicable).
b. Company specific BDU bottom (if applicable).
c. Ankle high (or higher) boots (NO SANDALS or open toed shoes for safety reasons!). DONT WEAR TENNIS SHOES
5-4.3 No RED shemaghs or other unique unit identifiers which could be confused with game play mechanics. Please note some helmet cams have red light that come on when your battery is low.
5-4.4 It is perfectly acceptable while waiting in regen to temporarily remove parts of your uniform to adjust your gear or cool off. You must return to full uniform before you re-enter the game.
5-4.5 Otherwise, removing any part of your uniform while on the field, including head cover, is an indication of a medical problem and will be dealt with accordingly by OP staff. If you are overheating and must remove uniform/gear to stay healthy you should immediately signal staff or your chain of command so you can be removed from the game. If you have a per-existing medical condition that prevents you from playing while wearing the above uniform, we do not recommend you attend.
6-1 Gear:
6-1 Gear is defined as anything players wear that is not part of the Uniform Code or a weapon. This includes but is not limited to: load bearing vests, harnesses, pouches, eye protection, gloves, pads, and water carrying devices.
6-2 We encourage players to match their gear color to their side, but gear color is not restricted. EX: It is OK for a US FORCE to wear a green tac vest.
6.4 EYE PROTECTION
6-4.1 Eye protection must have a rubber/foam/soft material full seal that closely conforms to your facial features.
6-4.2 Eye protection must be secured against the head via tight elastic or adjustable strap that pulls flush against the head.
6-4.3 Eye protection must be ANZI Z87.1 compliant or better. This standard is usually posted either on the packaging or on the manufacturer’s website.
6-4.4 Wire or any other type/construction of mesh goggles ARE NOT ALLOWED in this particular AO.
6-4.5 Eye protection will be checked as part of morning inspection before the game. EYEPRO will be spot checked at any time.
6-4.6 IF YOU ARE UNDER 18. YOU MUST HAVE FULL FACE PROTECTION. HARD STYLE LOWER PROTECTION REQUIRED. No shemaghs covering the lower part of your face.
6-5 A portable water storage device such as a camelbak or canteen is mandatory gear for OP participants. Players are responsible for their own hydration!

Re: Airsoft Thread
Yes, the spring guide bearing push the spring ahead by 6mm. So the piston wont compress as far back enough for the last sector teeth to clear the metal piston end teeth. Atleast i think that's the issue till i can confirm it hopefully in two weeks. Will take pics then.Sobo wrote:Sandy,
I havnt seen that problem before, does the spring guide bearing push the spring ahead a bit?
