Hi Jackie, silicon oil is the same thing that RC car hobbyists use too. They call it powerlube or something similar. I'm sure you know this but only use 100% silicon oil, no lithium based grease or silica dispersed lubricant.

Re: Airsoft Thread
I tried searching for the same, but I am not able to find even the similar silicon shock oil used in rc toys. I will try searching again. Maybe tomorrow I will go to the chemical market in Mumbai, not far from my place and look for pure silicone oil. Thanks for the suggestion brother.Sobo wrote:Hi Jackie, silicon oil is the same thing that RC car hobbyists use too. They call it powerlube or something similar. I did not know you were from Mumbai. Im sure you know this place, India hobby centre in Grant road, or you will definitely find it in any big hardware store in loharchawl. Best of luck.

Re: Airsoft Thread
Jackie, Airsoft grade silicone sprays are difficult to find here since most have industrial rated petroleum base. But your GBBs are self lubing if using top gas. Shock oil is good & cheap but use in moderation. What you also need is moly paste for the sliding metal parts.
This is what i use, the TM spray is for generic lubing & the TA green slime for all rubber parts. STTi also make a good spray but hard to find. Import it from ehobby & ebay, totally safe.

Re: Airsoft Thread
Hey thanks for the info guys. Just wanted to know if it is possible to get the moly paste in India, preferably Mumbai. I will go to lohar chawl this Saturday and check the options available. The guy from whom I purchase airsoft doesn't have any this time and when I contacted another dealer he quoted 2k for a $5 tube.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Airsoft Thread
Just get this JM moly, it's gonna last you a long time & he's from Bombay itself. http://www.airgunindia.com/shoponline/o ... small.html
Or look for the Precihole moly paste, although it's a rebrand.

Re: Airsoft Thread
Thanks Sandy, i didn't knew that this can be used for airsoft too. Will call him today to check the availability.
I also wanted to know regarding self import of airsoft guns. When our gun lands in the FPO and they are adamant for a lab test. What are the exact charges for the same including custom duty if any?

Re: Airsoft Thread
That moly is for anything metal, I even use it on gearbox.
Just make sure it doesn't land at FPO. There's simply no other way. If it does, there are no fixed charges coz buyer has to take the parcel to FSL under police escort, and all charges for the same should be borne by us. Depending on the distance involved, it can include accommodation, food etc for both parties. If cleared by lab, here charges will most probably be in the form of penalty at commissioner's discretion, usually 100% + 40% duty. You'll have to figure out how exactly your FPO works.

Re: Airsoft Thread
I cannot answer much about customs and shipping, hopefully Sandy and Jackie will be able to help you out. Tokyo Marui's are some of the best out there, may I ask why the chrome version, according to me it only looks pretty in pictures, upfront, it is easy to get dirt, grime and handprints on it. If you're set on a M9, I would suggest you also look at the KWA M9 PTP, it has more weight and kick than its TM brother, I have one. An AK PKM? All I can say is goodluck, besides being huge, it looks menacing AF. I'm curious to know why the AK PKM LMG?

AFAIK even customs in Mumbai too follow the same procedure. My brother had imported a 1911 two years ago. He managed to get it out without the lab test but had to pay the same 100% + 40% penalty and taxes and with a strict warning not to import anything like this in the future.estousandy wrote:That moly is for anything metal, I even use it on gearbox.

Re: Airsoft Thread
DHL- Fast, super expensive, unpredictable. They're not clearing RC transmitters anymore due to customs harassment, i don't see why they should clear "dangerous" goods like Airsoft. Try it, but that would be one pricey try. Also, almost every parcel through private couriers are religiously screened these days. Contact DHL first about their processes if any for Airsoft.Hemant Vaidya wrote: Hi guys I am new in this forum and eager to buy tokyo marui chrome m9 from ehobby asia. Import lic is a generic paper applicable to any 'freely importable' goods. Airsoft stands unofficially removed as such an item. What they might ask for includes DGFT lic or Police NOC. Still if you can get an import lic, might strengthen your case but that's needed/accepted only for commercial imports.
Ehobby/tiger/any other use only airmail for international shipping if paid through PayPal. That's bound to land you in trouble unless it lands at Delhi International mail Center, but there's still a tiny chance it'll be sent to customs from there. Try request for Sweden Post airmail since they mostly take the DIMC route. If u can pay by card, they "might" send it by surface but that will cancel any kind of payment protection.
Please read through this thread & included links first, that'll clear a lot of fog w/o even a query.
