If it says muzzle velocity of 285 fps, that would most probably be with a 0.2g bb and thats what i would recommend, specifically goldenball 0.2's. if you can get your hands on them. Heavier bb's will hold the momentum farther and have more effective range and consistent shot to shot. Remember, there is no such thing as accuracy in airsoft guns, its consistency, unless its a fixed hop up system.

Sobo, most of these entry grade springers categorically mention their FPS with .12g BBs. Usually it comes in 150-200fps actual. I tried .2g on mine with consistent groupings but the range came down much. It hits harder too from increased momentum. Also the tracks of .2g BBs are very visible unlike for .12g when shot out of barrel.

Sorry, I didnt read the whole thing, I retract what I said. Sandy, you are right, the bb weight depends on the quality of the gun. The gun does not have adjustable hop and hence you should stick to 0.12g bb's.

Hi Sandy,
I did open the barrel up and to my surprise it was made of metal. Infact mostbof the gun is metal not plastics as I had earlier suspected.
My worry is that can I carry this in a domestic flight with the checked in luggage ??
Any idea if metal bb guns arr restricted ?
Air India says that bb guns cant be carried in hand baggage but no such restriction in checked in luggage.
But is it actually followed or i cud get in trouble ??

That's reassuring to see a metal spring guide, it's one of the parts that mostly break in plastic guns.
What's the trigger assembly including piston catch made of? It's the next weak link in toy springers.

Thanks for the pics.

Hey guys,

I have read entire 28 pages of this thread. I would like to import an Airsogt gbb pistol only for indoor cardboard plinking, and the best option [chance]would be to import the airsoft gun disassembled. My question is- "What if the one the disassembled parcel gets seized by the customs??"
How can one explain/convince to the custom officials the reason for importing a airsoft[toy] gun in parts??"
I just want to be prepared on all fronts if i get interrogated.

Also-What would be the worst thing that will happen apart from my parcel being sent back or confiscated?? Do i have to spend some jail time or something?? I scared straight while typing this.

Please any senior member can put me out of my dilemma.

Thanks!! :wink:

Worst thing: You might get to experience jail life. Rare though.

Members have been successful in importing GBB pistols in the past. Regarding the current scenario, Kiran was the last person to import it dissasembled. You can check with him. Let us know how it goes.

Wow, a person can end up in jail for atleast 3 years for possession of imitation firearm. Also for knowingly purchasing one. Crap man :(

I have recently ordered a M9A1 EBB pistol through tiger111hk.com and they will be shipping it soon.
I don't have a rifle club membership. The gun is made of plastic only and unlike the GBB pistol owned by kiran.
In my case shall I ask them to disassemble it and ship. However they have informed that they will not provide any manual
for reassembly.

Is there chances of legal action if the package is siezed by customs.

I am not sure if importing dissasembled is risk free. If they can arrest the Chennai guy for importing a blank. Then they can even charge us with smuggling for importing dissasembled parts. Just a thought.

@Shikhar84
It cost me around Rs. 3400/- incl shipping. They have also informed a cost of 31$ for disassembly.
However, I had put the shipment on hold. Need some expert advice before proceeding further.

@JackieD
You are right. I think the online retailers knows the attitude of customs authorities, that's why they are reluctant to put even a manual for reassembly.
Anyways the authorities may still send the parts to the forensics and the situation could get worse. I feel it's better to import this plastic gun as such and a chance to ask these people Hey! have you seen a plastic gun firing live Ammo!
