This is why you folks need to own a Jeep / 4x4 vehicle. You can reach places no one else would dare to come near. Except in foot of course. But point is that it opens up a vast amount of area to explore. I understand that this doesn't count as "free" though

Re: Good places(free) for playing with Airgun (in Bangalore)
I would suggest picking up your bikes/cars & driving out into the wilderness.. Investing in a quad bike would be a good idea as well..
Kanakpura road is one place, Bannerghatta road is another. Driving down the road to Nandi Hills, Hogenekkal, Dodda Alada Mara etc are more such options. You will however need to drive for sometime though.
Or else go down to Dr. Jayakumar's place...
I would suggest picking up new hobbies like trekking & adventure sports. Perhaps join a woodsball/parkour team. This will give you ability to figure out stuff for yourselves.
Basically spend time with nature, roll in the mud, smell the earth, drink from the Kaveri.. sweat it out, flex some muscles, sprain some ankles, bruise some skin, break a bone, bleed a bit, learn first aid, carry your buddies back home, build your first ghillie, learn to stalk...
Shooting on a range with a bipod & chair is very different from shooting in a jungle. Do this & no more shall you remain ignorant of nature's ways.. Learn to listen to Mother Nature & she gives you everything you shall ever need!
Just remember that with power comes responsibility. Until the Lion learns to write, every poem eulogizes the hunter...

To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his Gods.
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his Gods.
