What made you decide on buying this pistol??
There are a lot of different make pistols available in the market where ammo is not difficult to acquire, besides they are comparatively easy to repair.

Re: TT-33 pistol (Russian)
This pistol cannot be carried safely with a round in the chamber, which would make it a very poor choice for self-defense.

My uncle is carrying tokarev pistol, one in chamber with putting it on half cock from past 30yrs . He just don't like .32 acp pistol . 7.62x25 is crazy stuff. Just don't drop it or hit something hard on hammer when hot. That's what I have seen ,every one has there own experience.

Re: TT-33 pistol (Russian)
Due to ban on import of weapons in India, we don't have much choice. We don't have access to modern pistols. Of whatever is available, TT-33 or Chinese type 54 is a very good gun if one can own it in India. Simply reliable, robust, powerful and sleek. Also 7.62x25 cartridges have been recently imported in India, both HP and FMJ, are easily available.
Here is a very good article on how TT pistol should be carried.
Here is a very good article on how TT pistol should be carried.
Complete article http://www.kegisland.com/tokarev-tt-33-tips.htmlIt should come as no surprise, then, that this gun is best carried with an empty chamber in a full flap military holster most of the time. In fact, it was really designed for carry with a lanyard attached -- which helped to reduce risk of accidental discharge associated with dropping. It could be fully loaded and the hammer placed at half-cock when trouble might be expected.
It's important to understand that Tokarev simply didn't design this weapon with the needs and habits of 21st century civilian American concealed carry permit holders in mind. As a consequence, the TT-33 is difficult to carry safely and effectively in the modern American fashion and really shouldn't be pressed into that role without necessity.
