How ridiculous can our Babus get

Today a friend and IFG member Zaheer Bakshi finally got his Rifle licence.
He already has a handgun and 12 bore.
This was his third weapon.
We were shocked to see that the licence is valid within the Dehradun district . Not even the state. How ridiculous can our Govt Officials Get?

As per my knowledge and experience there is only one License Booklet and the basics like area validity, ammo allowance (may be different for each weapon as there is a separate entry for each weapon) but in the printed booklet there is no differentiation of other weapons individually. Or does Dehradun issue a separate license book for each weapon???

Yes Atul each weapon has a separate booklet for uttarakhand state. I am not surw why did this happened. The babu said first the area of license is district wise ( janpad dehradun) and then later it will be for the state. If anyone on this forum can tell if this is a proper way of issuing area validity and if not then I will get state authority from DM dehradun. As per my knowledge one can get state validity once the licence is issued .

I will not comment on the legal aspect of this query of yours. But as per the guidelines with the LA they are free to issue a license valid for the district only or the state. Beyond that up to three adjoining states, the validity can be extended by the state government. And all India validity by the central government 'Home Ministry.
In your case for state validity, it should be possible by your local LA.
I suppose some License holder of Dehradun may be able to clarify things further.
As per my opinion go ahead and buy your rifle and then apply for the area validity as per your other licenses.

I can't answer your question, Prashant, but it seems to me that when people put their mind to foolishness without limits on petty behavior and breathtaking arrogance, it would be a mistake to underestimate how ridiculous they can become.

The old cliche is, "the sky is the limit," but surely that level was surpassed long ago.

All these things are going to take time and effort. But have you picked up that lovely Bruno 7X57. And if you don;t mind, can I know how much is it costing you.
