The spiral magazine prevents the bullet tips from contacting the primer of the bullet in front of it. In a straight tubular magazine there is always the potential that during recoil the pointed tip could impact the primer of the bullet in front of it in the tube and cause an explosion.SS wrote:I missed this thread earlier.
