DIY Knifemaking: 2 tactical blades

Hi All,
Here are two compact tactical blades I just completed. first one is based on the cold steel urban edge push dagger and the other is my take on the amazing clip point, CS Espada. Though, my version is a fixed blade and much more compact.
Both knives are made of carbon steel from industrial shearing blades of different sizes. Each has full tang cores and latex over nylon chord grips.

@ Pratik: I usually start with the surface using a grinder progressively from 180 till 400 grit. second step is manual rubbing with 600/800 grit and then with cutting paste (rubbing compound for cars) to clear any fine scratches. finally for a mirror finish I use the green and white metal polishing wax with felt pads.
@aadhaulya: for cutting/shaping, I don't use templates. just draw the rough shape on steel for cutting. final shape and grind bevel is freehand using an angle grinder.
@esdee1972: well, its not all elbow grease... If the surface is prepped right, the polishing compound gives a nice mirror finish quite quickly(2 to3 applications max).

What's the blade size? Its one of those designs where bigger is certainly better!

bro how do you heat treat and temper the SS blade blanks? I just got a few knives made in 420hc grade. Got it bevelled and sharpened to a razor edge. I then used it to cut some cardboard sheets and few other stuff to check the edge retention. Pretty soon the edge wore out and it really need effort to cut. I am guessing the reason to be the lack of a proper heat treat cause the carbon steel knives i have can go through similar amount of work or more and still be razor sharp(they were all heat treated in the sheet form itself).
Sad part is I ordered an entire sheet of 420hc in 5.2mm to get some knives made and now can do nothing with it till i find a solution to this.

**Asking you this assuming that you are using SS given the mirror finishes on your knives.

@astronomy glad you like it,blade size is around 11inches,will polishblade just like yours before hot blueing.
i m searching piece of indian rosewood (sheesam)for handle,it took me 15 days as leaf spring was thicker so shaving metal took time.will update one my knife is done.
