I am a novice shooter and have no vested interest in Precihole but the NX 100 is by far one of the best rifles I have shot. I love shooting it even more than my SX 100 which is also a great rifle although with the SX I had to tighten the trigger after 50 odd shots. Having used IHP rilfes in the past my humble opinion is that they don't they rank ANYWHERE close to Precihole in terms of power and accuracy!

@SMJ - Am not sure what version of IHP AR you own/ use.
By version I mean the pieces IHP has rolled out over different years, Off late I have heard that there is decline in quality for the IHP ARs as well.
I own one that is pretty old and it has no accuracy problems whatsoever and have never ever done anything other than lubing and sight adjustments on it till date.
Even I have nothing against Precihole and do not have any vested interest in IHP as well, just echoing my thoughts and feelings here...

can u post closeup(1:5 at least) image of the pellets in different orientations, do not use flash.
Attaching a few snaps I took of the pellets.
Not sure if this can be of help or conclusive for whatever analysis ganeshn wants to do.
Photos are taken on my mobile phone without flash.

After 4.4 Mb and six images the pellets look fine and similar to the ones that i have, the approx. skirt diameter based off your first image is 5.7mm, the pellets look authentic too.
checkout the pellets in different orientation shot by me.

The pellets do not have any kind of finishing and perfection to it, your photos are no different in this aspect as well.
As I said earlier, am comparing with the .177 MasterShot flat head pellets I use on my IHP-35.
They are perfectly shaped, finished with consistent in dimensions for every single piece and tolerance i have noticed is as negligible as 1% to 2%.
I do not see anything of that sort with precipell unfortunately.

Today I met the Precihole technician and he confirmed there is nothing wrong with my rifle breech.
Its all about the pellet, he tried his version of Precipell .22 round head pellet in my rifle and hey, the head itself is gripping on the walls of the barrel, pretty tight; His pellet was perfect snug fit on my AR.
He tried my pellets and it was loose and it dropped off the breach when he tilted the gun.
Its quite clear now who is the villain.
He also confirmed that its a known fact to Precihole and the doctor that a few recent batches of pellets made by G Smith was of crappy quality and off dimensions and that I have been one of the lucky ones to have received couple of packs from that.

Regarding the pellets hitting high, he said there is nothing that can be done other than making a custom front sight with adjustable center line for height adjustment. For now I may have to stick to the scope system only for sighting and shooting my targets. Also may have to get another set of pellets and try if that fits my AR perfectly.
Additionally he also suggested to try another set (brand) of pellets and it might solve the issue of shooting high as well.

Hi Arvind,

I agree with you in one point that is sights aiming above the target.

I face the same issue with my scorpious karbin model. Its almost 9 months I have been enjoying this beauty, but always this particular thing pinches me.

After 200 shots, inspite of trying my best to make them proper, I finally learned to aim low, much below the target and succeeded in getting the target accurately.

Coming to cocking effort, even I was disappointed initially. I used to have a very sour left hand all over the week, for just 20 to 30 shots in weekends. But Briha sir asked me to wait for 300 to 500 shots for better cocking. And that was true. Now the cocking effort is almost nil.

I regularly use only precipell and its like tight fit. So these days I shifted to master shot, pointed head, which sits comfortably. As per my observation, precipell are accurate enough.

As others say, please wait for few more shots, keep shooting and I am sure you will notice the difference.

As this is my first AR, I dont know about other brands, so I cant comment much on balance and finish.

For precipell, check aimco enterprises, they sell at cheaper prices compared to others.

@kiran2608 - Even I wanted to get a Scorpius Karbin and went to the stores after making sure they had it in stock.
Unfortunately they had only 2 in stock and both did not had a scope stop, so had to go with the normal barrel Scorpius.
Cocking effort is not a major concern for me, but I have seen many people suggesting NX (nitro piston) for lesser cocking effort, just wanted to clarify my experience here.
Also the cocking effort getting reduced over time/ use may not be good sign, looking at it technically.
For a Nitro piston, there is no spring that looses its tension to reduce to cocking effort and hence, so long as the Nitro piston holds the gas pressure the same, the cocking effort also should remain the same, even if the rifle has shot 10 pellets or 1000. The resistance from the gas being compressed will not get deteriorated over time. This brings about the question of the gas ram loosing its pressure over time, as some IFG members had pointed out/ warned.
I had read many posts where members had very high regards for the Precipell pellets and hence decided to get them for my Scorpius, but it seems I got unlucky with the batch of pellets I got from Kovibazaar, all the pellets are pretty loose on the breech of my AR. The Precihole technician also confirmed that the pellets I had are off dimensions and when he used his version of the Precipell pellets, it was snug fit on my AR.
I had checked at Aimco first but they had Precipell out of stock, it still is. Since I got the defective pellets am not confident in trying it anymore, for now. Would try MasterShot or Marvellous Diana Shots, until I can get access to some imported ones.

Hi Arvind,

Your explanation regarding cocking effort really makes sense. :agree: Till date I might have shot some 3K shots and I dint notice any drop in the velocity atleast at 25 mts range. More over as this is my first AR, I dont think I have good experience to say anything more on this:-)

Just for your information, I called up aimco few days back and they promised me that they will restock .22 precipell pellets by next week. And each tin costs Rs 299 ( 200 pellets).

So be lucky to grab them:-)

Kiran, Thanks for sharing the information.
But having already burnt my fingers on the Precipell, wouldn't dare to try it any soon, unless someone really confirm the dimensions on them are alright and I see and experience it myself. Cant really be sure if the Aimco team has not got the same batch of pellets that Kovibazaar team got, which apparently were not only off dimensions but also had a lot of defective pellets.

Hi Arvind,

I too am facing the same issues you mentioned on accuracy. Could you share your groupings with different pellet brands? I assume you have mounted a scope on your rifle now.
Do let us know your experience.

Regards,
SS

shirodkar4 - Am not facing any issues with accuracy as such, on my scorpius, am getting good groups at 50feets distance, even without scope.
The matter is, with open sight, all the pellets hit about 1.5 to 2 inches above the bullseye, despite setting the rear sight to the lowest possible position even at 35feets.
On using the scope am able to hit the target perfectly.
So far I have tried Precipell round head and DianaShot in flat heads, I also have bought the DianaShot round head pellets, havent tried that yet.
The only problem I have is that both the Precipell & DianaShot (flat heads) are loose on my rifle breech.
Except that things are pretty fine now.
