Advice on Purchase

Post by Chandan22 » Mon Dec 08, 2014 12:55 pm

Gentlemen,

Having just received my licence for pistol and rifle, I'm now looking to buy one each asap.
Given that I'm on a budget, IOF seems the only option available. The usual route of applying to the factories and waiting 3-5 months is always there, but I was wondering if there are any known dealers who may have these pieces for sale at a reasonable premium. So far I've called three and they have quoted me between 60-80k for the .22LR and 1.4-1.8 for the .32 Ashani. These sounded a tad excessive to me..Plus they also "informed" me that IOF has stopped production for the last two years of all weapons !!!!

So if any of you have any recommendations of dealers who will be reasonable and will not pass off poor quality stuff, I'd appreciate it.

why not check out the yellow page of the forum,
not knowing where you are based makes giving info hard.
dealers are good at selling by not telling the truth, has IOF really stop making arms? if they have darn good news i say. have you contacted them?

if you say it can not be done, then you are right, for you, it can not be done.

Oops..
that was careless of me.

I'm in Delhi. I tried calling IOF factories but kept getting shunted from one number to another till I gave up calling after almost two hours, without any concrete info.
Thats when I started calling arms dealers.

Congrats on the licenses Chandan. Try Garg armoury, he had a few .32 iofb revolvers.

Thx Dev...

not keen on a revolver though.

Btw, any thoughts on how one can go about getting a match grade weapon... obviously it would be used and old, but then if one wants to compete, there is no other way is there?

Dear Chandan,
Since you are from Delhi must have heard of Gaziabad. An area in Gaziabad is called Muradnagar. Please visit the place on any working day and go to the reception of the Ordinance Factory and find out the current avilability of IOF civilian weapons and waiting period.
