Ordered a Gill Hibben knife but...........

I recently ordered this knife from Hill Gibbin.

It is an amzing knife, I love it. But this knife has a blade 10 inch and might be more broad than 4 inch, which violates the indian knife law. Since I will keep this knife at home, won't carry it publicitly, is there a possibility that customs might seize it once it reaches indian transit?

Although Cart2india takes the responsibility, the price is inclusive of custom duty and everything. In case it is lost in transit, they will refund the money. But what is your experience? Will custom people open it, mingle with its sharpness or seize it? I remember 3 years ago when I ordered first blood knife, It came to be a blunt knife, although in reality it is very sharp.

PS: I want to double check if possession of such knives is illegal or carrying it in public place?

Yes I ordered several items of Cart2India and it all reached safely, except for a greber knife which I ordered 3 years ago, was lost in transit. I suspected, that customs might have seized it because it was spring assisted. But Cart2india refunded my money. So I always feel safe to order something from Cart2India

But this is the first time I am ordering such a big knife with a blade more than 9 inch. I am not sure if its illegal to possess such a knife or carry in public.

I have ordered my Buck 110 and Buck Pathfinder from them and both were delivered promptly. Best option is to go for COD, that way you don't have to part with your cash till you have your knife in your hands..

Moreover, you might want to check the steel. The product description says it's AUS6, I read that is a soft steel and won't hold edge longer. Just saying.. it's a beautiful piece nd I would want to own it someday.

As far as legality goes, I feel it shouldn't be a problem if you don't intend to carry it around.

Yes it is AUS 6 steel, which is bit disappointing I wish Gil Hibben would have used 440J steel. But I will not use this knife for heavy duty like chopping woods. So it should last forever

Another question, is it safe to carry such knife in carry on luggage if you want to use it in camping or hiking or any other adventurous tour? Off course I will not carry it in holster but keep it in a carry on luggage. In stations can X-ray machine easily detect it?

They have recently I creased the price. If you purchase it using credit card instead of COD, they will provide you around 300 bucks discount. The original price of Gill hibb knife was 8300. But when I purchased it using credit card, I had to pay 7800

That's one big reason I choosed credit payment instead of cash on delivery

It cost me 5100/-COD. But given the fact that knifeCentre will charge you somewhere between $32 and $43 for international shipping., or works out the same but with peace of mind n my cash doesn't leave my wallet till I see the product

Also got my Pathfinder from them for 4700/- will post pix soon.

I checked today, they are no longer carrying the Pathfinder

You do realize that the knife is not manufactured by Hibben knives?
According to the Hibben website:

That doesn't matter as far as the quality of the knife is good
