Hi Vilsopal,

How are you travelling to Kolkata, by Train or Air. Is it permissible to transport your weapon by Air ?

Due to election (Code of conduct) in Maharashtra , they denied to NOC before 20 October 14 , so I m planning to go after 25 Oct 14 . Yes you carry ur gun by air , All u have to do is -Surrender ur weapon to authorities of airline ,They will make u to sign some paperwork and then take ur sealed special package with them. After landing at airport they will hand u your special package safely. Some airlines charge 5000 Rs for special package .

hello everybody.
One of my friend had bought iof ashani .32 pistol 2010 make.as usual after a couple of shots the barrel bushing flew.with the help of a lathe, made a identical bushing with 5mm lengthier on the outside and 2mm on the inside.i made the notch sharper, that keeps the bushing stuck to the barrel.i am sharing the picture.it seems to work so far.

This really is a matter of concern doctor. What if something like this happens in a life threatening situation. I have left my pistol in factory condition don't feel it's safe to fiddle with it.

Wasn't it supposed to be non-unscrewable?

In the earlier all black ashani the barrel bush could be unscrewed, the very issue as explained by doctor was one of the issues apart from jams. I am not sure which year the ashani was upgraded, thereafter the barrel bush was permanently sealed with aroldate. I believe a few minor upgrades were done to address the frequent jams as well.

I am pretty sure there would be a discussion on this somewhere here. Could you help me with the link Vikram

I had an ashani 2008 till Jan 14, fired more than 200 shots. A few jams. But that was due to faulty cartridges I believe.

Once the glue is removed from the factory barrel bush its Certainly not recommended that we screw it back with out glueing it. The point to be noted here is the attitude of the IOF, instead of doing what you did doctor making a proper barrel bush and screwing it back they kept the defective one and glued it, not caring less about how one would clean the the pistol without having the option of dismantling it
