Awesome shooting with the handguns. The 1911's a real beauty. Lucky man you.

Hey Kshitij,

That would have been one helluva of a trip. A few years back, I too had visited a firing range in Pattaya and it was heavenly.

Had an opportunity to shoot .45 revolver, 9 MM, Shotgun, and a fully automatic (have forgotten the name. Stupid me!).

It was sheer pleasure. Just hoping some day in near future, India too would open up and embrace RKBA and have such ranges in India as well! AMEN!

Cheers!!

@ moin, thank you. The 1911 is one of my two favorite handguns. The other being the Glock 21 :)

@pratik, yup, lets meet up soon.

@shadow: Do you remember the name of the range in Pattaya?? I did visit a range in Pattaya too and shot the .357 magnum Smith and Wesson there. The place was in a basement, rather shady and looked like the local mafias plinking area than a shooting range. They had other guns to shoot too but i didn't bother with it. The only full auto rifle they had was the AK47 i guess. They were also keen on not allowing photography of any kind. Was rather put off by the place and people, hence didn't feel like mentioning it here.
Couldn't agree more on India embracing RKBA, eagerly look forward to that day.

Hey Kshitij,

Let me dig out the pics of the range and post it soon.

It was an open fire range and had other adventure activities there as well like bungee jumping etc.

That trip did leave a deep hole in our pocket costing me almost Rs 15,000/-, but I can tell you this, it was worth every penny spent.

Will check and update you on the name of the range soon.

In that case we visited two completely different places. The place i visited in pattaya was a basement or a converted parking lot, I am not sure :D Anyways shooting the .357 magnum was an experience worth cherishing too.

The range in Bangkok, of which i have posted images here, was ten folds better and safer than the one in Pattaya.

Do post the pictures of your outing along with the details of the place if possible. Also did they allow you to take photos with the assault rifles?

I remember the good old days when I used a "Winchester Auto-loader" which belonged to a friend (5 shot magazine - 28" barrel with full choke)) for shooting ducks....Bagged 3 with 5 shots on the wing :D

Kshitij, you have inspired me to get off my lazy posterior (maintaining decorum here ;)) and upload the pictures of my trip, by sending me down the memory lane!

Yes brother, will post them asap!

Cheers!
