My first air rifle, a Precihole Polaris :D
Hello Guys,
I had been drooling over Air rifles from the forum and it got the best of me. I went ahead and started looking for a Rifle but i also wanted to be able to practice in a shooting range, hence went for a .177 caliber.
So after much deliberation and research i finally got a Precihole Polaris Nitro piston Air rifle. I know without pics its a little pointless, that will be done soon too.
Hope to start a collection now.
Thank you IFG for the immense help you guys provided.

Thanks aman, hope you join in soon. I will also post a review soon, so that might help you decide.
Here are some unboxing pics, as you can see there is scope for improvement in quality.

And I can't see a scope in your pics . If I've got one along , I'm waiting for the pics .

Congratulations. NX-100 is a good air rifle. We can hope Precihole has solved the technical issues about trigger. I also brought NX-100 Scorpius some time back and using it is a pleasing experience. You will be able to appreciate nitro piston more, if you compare the feel with a spring piston rifle (I have IHP 35, though I do not have any experience on PH springers).

I did some plinking today and am rather impressed with the power and accuracy of this rifle even with locally made pellets, but one thing which bothered me was the cocking effort it took. It was more than what i expected, is this normal or will it become a bit easier after a while ?

I am no expert but according to the info on forums , the reason it's taking a lil effort to cock it because of the fact it's new . It will kickin after several shots . Don't you worry bro , plink and upload the pics ASAP.

This is the pic of a paint can which was used for plinking tonight, it was dark so i had to shoot from 6 mtr ( i know it's too close for fun) but i was easily able to make shots in the same hole twice or thrice.
Sadly i am also plagued with the lose trigger problem, tightened it for now, will buy fevi quick and try to fix it later. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: My first air rifle, a Precihole Polaris :D
Had one left over from recent work done in my house. Paint comes in PET but this was from paint sealer (i guess that can't be put in PET container).
I have a query from fellow IFG members, I tried hitting the cap of a bottle and was successful in 2 shots but when i try to hit a target printed on a paper, i am unable to hit anywhere close to the center. What could the issue be?

If you are using open sights the issue could have something to do with lighting and contrast which can make a difference. If have a plinking target area that is shaded and my aim seems to vary with time of day.Vivek.anand wrote:Had one left over from recent work done in my house. Another factor is that with a bottle cap you can be less accurate and still see the cap go flying. For example if the cap is 3 cm in diameter - one pellet at one margin and another pellet near another margin would both send the cap flying, but on paper the two pellet holes could be 2-3 cm apart.
Plinking is fun, but shooting paper targets will give you a much better idea of what is happening.

Re: My first air rifle, a Precihole Polaris :D
I took your advice and observed, the lack of accuracy is the combo of my newbie skills, lighting issues and locally sourced pellets.( had ordered prepell pellets but thanks to GATI courier, still waiting on those )
So all in all would have to work quite a bit to get better.
Thank you for the suggestions, really appreciate it.
*UPDATE*
So finally received my precipell and aimco pellets today and did some plinking and i can safely say that the problem were the pellets.
Although i am a total newbie i got a decent grouping (according to me ) Then went ahead to shoot a few tile pieces.
I used 3 different pellets for this, First one was Aimco pellet followed by the precipell, both of which shot clean through the tile. The 3rd one was a locally made HeMan pellet which broke the tile into pieces. Overall impressed with the gun but would be happier if the cocking was easier, i am not a strong man but still the cocking has started taking its toll on my shoulder. will take a break of couple of days.

Re: My first air rifle, a Precihole Polaris :D
Can someone please help me with 2 small queries i didn't know where else to post.
Q1. What is the size in inches of the professional target used in 10 mtr rifle shooting? I am currently using a4 as my membership for a shooting club will be completed in the month of January.
Q2. Where in Delhi/Noida can i buy imported or precipell pellets at reasonable prices?

For Percipell pellets you can buy from Amico. They have got .22 and .177 for reasonable rates.
