Handle's rosewood rivetted to the tang.
Pure awesomeness! What a lovely blade. How is the balance?

Thanks Choombak :) Damn thing is so heavy i never really bothered to check, but believe me in spite of its weight the blade is quite maneuverable

Hi all,

My first real post here. (I'm a Bangalore based geek who's been lurking for a while now).

Now that my BK-7 has arrived I thought I should post this picture of the best part of my knife collection.

In addition to the Becker BK-7 you'll see a few Victorinox SAKs (the two hand opening ones are limited/special editions); a Sanrenmu 710; a small Muela; Spyderco Tenacious; a couple of nifty Munkees; and the Iain Sinclair credit card knife.

Regretfully missing is the True Utility smartknife (old version) that I dropped somewhere.

These knives are all in use, distributed between pocket, key ring, EDC bag, glove compartment, boot, drawer and cupboard safe. Image

Kshitij, please ensure you don't look like a zombie when you head for your bug-out location, aka Moin's home. You don't want to be at the receiving end of that KNOIFE!
Cheers!

Thanks for the welcome.

The blade on the left is a Sanrenmu 710 (now called 7010LUC-SA) and is the subject of one of the biggest controversies in the bladeverse. It's manufactured by a Chinese OEM who makes knives for Spyderco, and appears inspired by the Chris Reeve Sebenza. However, it is not exactly a Sebenza in material or price point. I haven't handled a Sebenza but the Sanrenmu 710 stands out on its own, and is a well-designed and well-constructed knife. Sits nicely in the square pocket of your jeans.

(Btw, I see a lot of due and undue criticism in the US knife circles. Chinese companies do copy rather blatantly (as US companies did in the early 19th century) and criticism in this respect is well deserved. However, a lot of the loudest criticism is just bias based on stereotyping and chauvinism. A lot of Chinese stuff is cheap, low-quality knockoff. That doesn't mean that China doesn't produce some good stuff. )

Thanks. I realised I hadn't put my Opinel No 9 in the frame.

You got that right -- it's a shemagh, which I purchased from Olive Planet. If there's one bit of garment that performs multiple roles well, it is this!
