Re: Advice on buying Benchmade knife online
Hahaha Shashank...I like that name...
I have checked the forums but couldn't find one where we have collective experiences of ordering knives online...
Maybe we should have one forum where everyone can share their story... give a word of caution. .. a funny anecdote. ..
It will be helpful for novices like me...

You would also think they could hire a proof reader that would use correct verbage on the packaging- "Folding Knife" instead of "Folded Knifes", LOL.

Correct verbage? Mark, that is proper English as taught in PRC!!
I got a pair of sunglasses from a market in Shanghai (since I need to change the lenses to my power anyway, buying a genuine RayBan is a waste of $$). You just couldn't differentiate that pair from original RayBan Wayfarers (TM). The holograms, the logo, the etched "B&L, USA"...... everything in place! Except the tag / manual - "not looking sun directly even wearing polar glasses" (I assumed they meant polarized). Pity I threw away that tag.

Re: Advice on buying Benchmade knife online
Buying knives online I would say AFAIK and my personal experience I would strongly suggest that buy from knifecentre.com as they have genuine knives and have a very good delivery system for India and considering all the factors the price they give is justified. Benchmade knives are one of the most sought after knives that is why there are lot of replicas of benchmade than any others, the visual appearance of the good fakes are generally very good its mostly the materials they use in fakes are sub standard and cheap. There are lot of videos available in youtube about knives their reviews etc etc. also there are lot of videos about spotting fake ones and comparison of fakes with genuine. Whenever I plan to buy a knife i generally see a couple of videos about it helps building the right opinion.

Yes Shashank I agree...discovershashank wrote:Had the exact knife from ebay. Not bad for price. Steel is crappy though, won't hold an edge for a day but very compact and good shape. Gave it to a friend. We used to call it "Bhanchmade"
I think the build is quite strong, the frame lock is sturdy, it locks perfectly and securely, no play whatsoever when open or closed.
The blade is sharp till now but I'm not sure how long it will retain that sharpness.

I was browsing eBay.in and found a listing for Benchmade folder combo offer
It seems a throwaway price but I'm skeptical it may either be a ripoff or bad quality
I checked few other sites and understood the model listed here are discontinued.
I also found it was originally prices about $5 when it was in production
It's a mere 1000 bucks but I wanted your advise
The link is below

Note:- I'm going to ask for more advise here so buckle up fellow IFGians

)) I had bought similar ones a while back. Gave one away and have retained the other one as a keychain!
