9mm locket. legality suggestions

Had nothing to do so made a locket on a string with a 9mm bullet. Tried it and actually liked it. Would there be a legality issue in wearing it?
I actually have a couple of bullets, Which are very old and just kept as a souvenir. One is a 9 mm and the other is an Slr round 333. Is it illegal to own them?

If you have live rounds i.e primer and powder in cartridges its illigle.if you uses just bulletts then you can use as lockets.
but it seems you have got live rounds of 9mm and 303 thats illigle according to arms actwhat you want say say clearerly

Something from the Arms Act

25. Punishment for certain offences
3[(1A) Whoever acquires, has in his possession or carries any prohibited arms or prohibited ammunition in contravention of section 7 shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than five years, but which may extend to ten years and shall also be liable to fine.

and what is Section 7

7. Prohibition of acquisition or possession, or of manufacture or sale, of prohibited arms or prohibited ammunition – No person shall-
(a) acquire, have in his possession or carry; or
(b) 1[use, manufacture], sell, transfer, convert, repair, test or prove; or
(c) expose or offer for sale or transfer to have in his possession for sale, transfer, conversion, repair, test or proof;
any prohibited arms or prohibited ammunition unless he has been specially authorized by the Central Government in this behalf.

Do you have a civilian arms license to hold a Prohibited bore

Both caliber are Prohibited for civilian anyway.Unless if you have a PB license.

You have two options..a. Take out the bullet from the case and use it .
b. There are craftsman like Bajewala in Mhow,MP who can make an exact replica of any round which can be used for locket or showpiece

Yes, it is safe. Unless you fall into a fire. Even then, not very dangerous. Though turning a live round into jewelry may not be. Depending on method used.

unless you want to see the ugly side of law dont do it. if caught with it, you would need to explain as to how you got the casing and then the whole ugly side of law is seen.
i would remind you a known actress was caught with a casing of a blank fire pistol,and she had to go thru hell of a time till the authorities were convinced that it indeed was a casing from a blank firer pistol...imagine missing a flight and being grilled by over enthu cops..
my suggestion dont even try it with a replica bullet if you are a frequent flier.

As per the Arms Act 1962 it is illegal to posses a live Prohibited Bore Cartridge. I would suggest to avoid.

It is quite ILLEGAL to possess any prohibited bore live cartridge and one could be prosecuted for that. Also it is plain stupid to use a live cartridge of any bore as a locket or on a key chain and quite dangerous not only to you but also to people around you if something somehow hits the percussion cap and the cartridge goes off. But if you remove the lead bullet from the cartridge, empty the gun powder and throw it away, then fire the percussion cap and then fix the bullet back into the now fired empty cartridge then the cartridge can no longer be classified as a live firearm cartridge and it would not be illegal to own one and use it as a locket or on a key chain or as a showpiece. If any police personnel questions you just tell them you purchased them from a street novelty vendor and nobody would bother you. If you want to show off you can even get them gold plated. If you can get empty fired cartridges of any caliber fire arms you can easily get brass bullets made by any lathe machine operator and fix them to the empty fired cartridges and use them as lockets. JUST DON'T USE LIVE CARTRIDGES OF ANY CALIBER WHETHER THEY ARE PB or NON PB. THAT WOULD BE QUITE ILLEGAL.
