Dear Sir,
My father has a 0.32bore Mauser HSC, 7.65mm. It has the original Nazi stamp on it and is in excellent condition. What is the ongoing market prices of such a pistol? Please go through the pic below Moreover in what way such arms can be transferred in my name.

Re: Mauser HSC
I see no reason why your father's pistol cant be transferred to you. With your background you should have no problem getting licence for a .32 pistol especially if your application is attached with a letter from your father stating that he wants to give the pistol to you. The DM's office cannot raise any objection.aks268 wrote:Want to know the way in which my fathers 0.32 pistol can be transferred to me. Re: Mauser HSC
I request fellow knowledgeable IFG members to present their comments on this post. (i am also interested in knowing about this firearm)
TRANSFER:
As per rules: Yes, you can transfer if it is an inherited firearm. (if your father is living now then i can't say anything. in my opinion, you need to transfer as a second hand purchase if your father is living)
In reality: best way to transfer, sell, buy, etc. is through local arms dealer, they have monthly connection and therefore you can save the effort. In the meantime, you can complete the documents.
@TC I disagree with your "sale platform" comment. I think he was within the forum limits for asking about the current price of his dad's firearm. i have seen other people quoting prices for different things and i feel it is great as it can save firearm enthusiast from being cheated by dealers or someone else.

Re: Mauser HSC
Thanks shooter .177, TC & terminator, for your swift reply. As you have written that the best way to transfer is through dealer as they have a network, for that I have to first deposit the arms with dealer, then I have to ask him that I want to get it transferred in my name from my father through sale & purchase. Any idea regards how much the dealer can ask in Calcutta to get the license issued and the transfer made successfully. Please also state the approx time in which such can be made.
AS per price is concerned I have heard that dealers dont pay much, so I dont intend to sell, but just for my reference I was asking about the ongoing price.
I read in a forum right here that these pistols are sold by dealers in the bracket of 5-8lacs, But still I would ask about its price?

Yes my father is living but due to his old age he wants me to get it in my name. Moreover my area is under CP, so the application would be to the CP & not DM, I presume.

Congrats on the heirloom This is a classic pistol comparable to walther ppk as TC mentioned you need to confer and seek advise on gun transfer don't know how dealers come into picture. Other members can chime in on the process for paperwork, stay away from the dealers. As far as selling price goes well it depends on your location and dealers buyers quote way lower prices while buying of course sale price is high...it's a great gun why sell it simply retain it.
Also TC advise was correct please introduce yourself as a new member first it's a simple courtesy Post often
Cheers

Re: Mauser HSC
That's how I got my first pistol when I turned 21. Only difference is that my father was not getting old but just wanted to give one of his weapons to me. Its all the same as far as transfer goes.aks268 wrote:Yes my father is living but due to his old age he wants me to get it in my name. Doesn't matter whether its a Commissioner or a DM. Its the same thing as far as Arms Act goes as Commissioners have the same Magisterial powers.
There is absolutely no reason to contact or take the help from any gun dealer, as Ngrewal has rightly pointed out. This is essentially a family matter and that Mauser is a family heirloom.
Having owned more than a dozen firearms all I can say is that yours is the simplest case for any licensing authority. Even if you were not a shooter you would have still got a licence. A friend of mine just got his in Kolkata. He is an artist. I hope you get the picture.
Just go ahead and submit the applications. Remember your application for a new licence should be attached with a letter from your father and photocopy of his licence.
By the way, since you wanted to know the value I think it should be in the range of 5.5 - 6.5 lakh if the bore is in excellent shape. But commercial value of foreign firearms is not easy to judge in India. Someone may say its 4 lakh. Another may say its 8 lakh. I gave my opinion as per my idea of the ongoing market.

Re: Mauser HSC
yea, others members are infact rightly pointing out that there is no need to involve dealer.
but, i spoke from personal experience that when recently I wanted transfer shotgun to my license I had to face problem. my age was less than 21 and I had acquired license for shooting purpose, so maybe that was the problem causing delays. I don't know what other dealers charge but I hired help of a reasonable person (he didn't charge from me but he does charge from other people) from my town who helped me process my file quickly. I am not asking you to do as I say, instead I am just telling what I went through.
As far as selling is concerned, no never ever sell firearm to dealer. Instead ask them that you want to buy that particular firearm then they will tell you estimated amount. this gives you some idea but somewhat on the higher side.

Re: Mauser HSC
For the sake of curiosity, could you post a pic of this stamp? It has the original Nazi stamp on it and is in excellent condition.
I believe it could be either Wehrmacht, Kreigsmarine or Polizei. If the markings are that of the Luftwaffe, it could get more interesting. I doubt if the pistol is marked with 'Nazi' (Nationalist Socialist) markings. Nevertheless, what baffles me is how it got to India? As a war trophy perhaps? Or as assistance to Indian resistance to the British?
Or, you are mistaking the 'eagle' proof mark of Oberndorf as a 'Nazi' marking.

Wehrmacht, Kreigsmarine, Polizei, Luftwaffe, can u give pics for those marks here, its an eagle definitely and its carrying a sign with it. Its on the right side of barrel, and both sides of trigger guard. Its from the last series.
Thanks everyone for sharing your views.

Re: Mauser HSC
That's likely to be a Wehrmacht issue from the mid 1940's. I'm afraid I can't illustrate with pics because I don't own one. This information is my recollection of German arms I have seen with people.its an eagle definitely and its carrying a sign with it. Its on the right side of barrel, and both sides of trigger guard
As concerns selling it in India, please do not assume that all this will fetch you collector's prices. The valuation will remain what the market dictates.
