My IOF Ashani Pistol

Post by thebrowningeffect » Wed Dec 25, 2013 6:08 pm

Dear IFgians, I bought this 2012 year Ashani pistol from gun shop in Lucknow. It is in a good condition and was hardly fired. I did a lot of research and finally came to the conclusion that a person who doesn't want to spend 7-8 lacks on imported handguns should consider this IOF pistol. I fired 12 shots without a single jam. I changed the grip with a wooden one which i got it for 700 Rupees. I am posting few pictures of my pistol. Sorry about the picture quality as they were taken from my mobile camera.

Cheers

- What ammo did you use?
- How many cartridges had you filled the magazine with when you shot these 12 shots?

Thanks.

Thanks for sharing! Your Ashani looks great. I like your Colt grips addition, too.

thanks.

I have been strongly advised to not load more than 5 in the magazine for best performance.

what brand of ammo did you use, KF?

and yes, where did you manage to get the lovely grip from (if you don't mind sharing the info, i.e.)?

Shaji Bhai I use this KF made ammo. I am told that ammo from 2013 batch are okay to shoot with and have less jams.

Even I have been advised for the same by few Ashani owners.

Thanks!! There is a small shop next to Capital Gun House on Latouche road, Lucknow. I bargained from 1200/- to 700/- :D

Hi bro,

Thanks for the information about the ammo; I heard the same and right now, there's a shortage in Hyderabad, let's hope the expected new stock hasn't got the rim interlocking issue.

Wish I could get a grip like the one you have, I'm not fully satisfied with the one I have because of the protruding thumb rest, and you don't want to know what I paid for it! :p
