Depending upon your budget you could choose in Lal bazar and Park Street. Any where else would be an issue with tranportsupershaji wrote:Any information on which Hotel to ideally stay at when primarily travelling from the Airport - Hotel - GSF - Hotel - Airport?

Re: IOF ASHANI .32 pistol
Janaab Farook,
Thank you ever so much for your detailed information, I am actually making a check-list based on your inputs now. My collection date is scheduled for the 21st, so I should be reaching Kolkata by an early morning flight on the 20th, God Willing.
Your advice for lodging at Lal Bazar or Park Street has also been noted.
However, would you be kind enough to please clarify my confusion here:
The 'Requisition Form for NOC' is to be acquired from GSF itself?
(my apologies if my questions seem silly and unwarranted, I simply do not want to be short of anything when I am there, for it's a long way from home :p)

This is just the entry of the weapon serial number on your original Arms License at the GSF again, yes? The weapon naturally will be endorsed back home by the Licensing Authorities, yes?farook wrote:

Janaab,
Last few questions:
- By what time do they start handing over the Pistols?
- Is it on 'first come, first serve' basis or does one have to wait till his name is called out?
- When do they end deliveries (what time)?
- What time was your pistol given to you?
- Is there any provision (at the GSF Security maybe) where we can leave our mobiles and/or bags, if any?
Thanks for your patience and for your invaluable latest information.

A token system is followed for delivery from 10 am on wards till all of the applicants get their weapons. I got mine at around 11 am. There is no provision at GSF to store personal belongings.

Respected Seniors,
As some of the Gun Smiths are modifying the IOF pistol to hammered one. They cut the slide and do many more modification. My question is whether it will reflect on the durability and the strength of the pistol or not?????
Regards
Amit

I have been accused for providing incorrect information. How would you rate the information as provided by me on a 1 to 10. I would further like to reiterate that you need to produce your weapon at the commissioners office for physical inspection As per the arms rule clause 52 ( ii ) and I quote
"When a licence is granted in Form II, Form III, Form IV, Form V or Form VI for the possession of arms to be acquired by the licensee subsequent to the grant of the licence, the authority granting the licence shall at the time of granting the same direct that within a period specified by him in this behalf, which he may, from time to time, extend, the arms covered by the licence shall be acquired and that the licence or the arms or both shall be produced for his inspection and if within the period specified or extended, the licensee fails to acquire the arms and to produce the licence, or the arms or both, as the case may be, the licence shall cease to be in force:"
Needless to say that the column 3 of your arms license would be updated with the relevant info.....

I would rate your information as accurate +1, and more than that, it was helpful. I would appreciate it if everyone here wore a similar attitude, in terms of patiently helping other members with whatever one knows.farook wrote:Wajhi wrote:Thanks a lot Farook Bhai, you were really helpful !!

If one has provided inaccurate information on his post, then he should be corrected by other more knowledgeable members backed up with facts, that's what discussion forums are essentially meant to be.
Relax. You probably just stole somebody else's thunder :p
