Depending on the modifications and workmanship, different gunsmiths are charging varying rates, one can buy and give them the IOF pistol. Charges vary from 18 K to 45 K.

Factory Price : INR 88,515/-

Booking amount is INR 25,000/-

Remainder: 63,515/- to be paid when they send you the call letter after the long waiting period.

Go to GSF.gov.in for all the details and more.

For a MODIFIED Ashani Pistol, call a local armoury or gun smith. In Hyderabad, its about 2 lakhs

hello guys,
whats the current waiting period for ashani pistol, could the pistol be given to the retainer having authority letter from the licensee or it should be given only to the license holder.

Yes

A minor nitpick. Does one become a retainer merely by way of receiving a letter from the license holder or does he become one when his name is entered in the license.

Thanking you in advance.

The retainer's photograph & name etc are endorsed on the license by the issuing authority first.

Despite this, a letter of authorisation has to be given by the license holder for any and every deed to be carried out by the retainer on behalf of the AL holder.

This is to the best of my knowledge. Members with better knowledge, please bail me out.

Hi All,

I have noticed that Ashani's waiting period is reduced to almost five months.

Let me give you the facts.

I have booked my Pistol on 2nd of August with Booking number GSF/2013-2014/05378 and I was waiting for their email to deposit the remaining balance but it never reached my inbox.

According to the website, updated on 3rd of December call letters have been generated for registration numbers until GSF/2013-2014/09728 and the collection date is middle of December. This booking number was certainly generated after mine. below is the link for full list.

http://gsf.gov.in/uploadFiles/adminFile ... sentee.pdf

I have investigated this and found that in PAY ONLINE menu it open to deposit the remaining balance of 63,515 and it was open since 9th November. However I did not get any intimation via email (I have checked Junk box too). This is what you can expect from out govt. agencies.

I have rushed to the bank and deposited the remaining payment, it was 3rd of December. Now my priority number is generated. Hope to get the call letter soon.I think, I would have got the delivery of Pistol in December if the payment was deposited on 9th of November.

I just want to highlight that you should regularly check PAY ONLINE menu while waiting for the email about the remaining payment.

Hope it is helpful for members eagerly waiting for their turn.

Thanks,
Wajhi

Thanks for the heads up!

Just wanted to clarify the following:

- Did you make a cash deposit of Rs 63,515 at a Central Bank of India Branch; did they give you a Journal Number (does is start with "J/xxx...")?

- How long (days?), after your deposit, did the website take to accept the "UTR/Journal" reference number in order to process a priority number (was it immediately generated upon submission of UTR/Journal number)?

- How long from acceptance of UTR/Journal number on website and generation of 'priority number' did it take before you were furnished the 'call letter'?

- Were you intimated about your call letter by email or did you have to check on the website for the same, if the latter, then where on the website can one get this update?

Thanks a ton.

Hi Mate,

Below are the answers.

I have made payment via my Axis bank account to GSF account, the cheque was given in the name of me for RTGS, They have given me the UTR number for this RTGS.

GSF found the payment in 48 hours and priority number was generated instantly after submitting the UTR number in PAY ONLINE menu.

It took 3-4 hours to generate the call letter after the processing of priority number.

Nothing is coming via email, I had to check Call letter status in TRACK MY ORDER menu.

Hope Helpful!!

Dear Wajhi,

Thank you for clarifying.

Your information is certainly helpful.

I had deposited the balance on the 4th and am still trying to submit the payment Journal no. on the "pay online" section on the website.

48 hours ends by 4pm today, so let's see.

My PP expires on Christmas day, so am hoping to get a call letter before that to avoid the extension procedure.

Thanks again!

Checked today and the website accepted my UTR number and generated my order's "priority number".

The 'current status', in the 'track your order' menu now shows "Priority No. Generated"... guess I'll wait for those 4 prescribed hours before the call letter is generated, hoping to get a date before my PP expires on the 25th of this month :P

BTW Wahji,

you may want to print your updated payment invoice from the 'Reprint of Receipt of on-line payment' menu and checking your 'Money Receipt', mine got updated with the final payment, and I printed the same just for my records (one never knows when the web can go down on you) (that didn't sound right, did it?! :p).

Thanks again. keep us updated.
