Its done. M300 all the way for me :D

Soap test proved it. That M300 not bad at all :D

Which is best pellet for m300 :stupid:

And I am a dweller in Your neighboring state, Karnataka :)
Ever heard of Hubli-Dharwad twin city ;)

Thank you very much!

YoYo

Had heard of Hubli before, and now, have heard of Dharwad as well, thanks!

Congratulations on your decision friend, we're now brothers in arms, both arms (the Orion in one arm, and the M300 in the other)! :p

Thank you for your appreciation for my advice, but alas, if only I was really wise! Nonetheless, I pray that God make me, and all of us worthy.

It's a forum and it is expected of members to be not only active, but interactive, helping one another by sharing knowledge.

I'm surprised you thanked me, in fact, I was going to thank you for concluding and not asking me to do a bubble-bath test next! phew! :p

Do let us know how you analysed the soap bar so we know how the test is actually used to determine whatever it determined.

About what pellets to use for this one, well, I'm using the Master Shot Wad Cutter and am quite satisfied with it. It's best to feed a Desi gun a Desi diet! say what? :p

:agree:

soap test : We study the pellet orientation once ejected out from the barrel. On average, we come to know about the power, penetration capacity, (depends upon pellet too) But it gives a general idea about our AR :D

it also shows that the pellet did not hit the soap bar sideways. but a head on collision took place.

This somewhat disproves the myth "M300 barrel rifling is incorrect" but, its little bit shallow.

and Who knows I may ask for missile test next ROTFL

will send them pictures and see what Aimco says. But it seems to be shooting fine.

Will also check f the barrel is really bent? any particular way to do it DIY?
Well , there is always the option of getting your rifle checked out by a good gunsmith .

As for DIY , I think , you can do it with a Spirit Level / Bubble Level .

Rest the rifle on a table on it's side , in such a way , that the barrel is NOT touching the table . Put the Spirit level on the stock and make adjustments to the level of the rifle so that the stock of the rifle is 100% horizontal . Then without disturbing the setting , put the Spirit level on the end of the barrel (muzzle ) . If there is no difference in the reading of the Spirit level , your barrel is straight . If there is a difference , the barrel is bent . Try the same steps , with the rifle resting on it's other side .
supershaji wrote: btw, my Orion hasn't really been used as much as you think, I think by now, I may have used the M300 just as much as the Orion.
How many pellet did you put through the barrel of the AIMCO M300 till date ? ( approx )
Did AIMCO recommend any run-in / break-in period ?

Just wondering about the process of cleaning the barrel of M300 . Is there other ways than firing cleaning pellets ? I mean , can we just run patches through the bore with the help of a rod , without dismantling the whole rifle ?

It's okay , if you disagree with me .
I can't force you to be right .

@SkyMan

If that question was for me, I used to own a Pegasus and it truly shot like a dream! Currently I own an awesome SX100 Orion, this beautiful M300, an old Kangaroo .22 Air Pistol, and an absolutely bogus fully falthu He-Man Mark 3 pistol (got greedy while ordering the M300)

Dear Sir,

I am a fellow member at IFG, hailing from Chhattisgarh State, and would like to request you to kindly let me know if Kangaro .22 Air Pistol is available nowadays.... Actually I have proudly owned one in the past, but it was stolen about 3 years back....and since then I have been trying to acquire one from any possible destination within India.... It will be a personal obligation if you will care to confirm its availability, and if possible, the resource from which I can purchase one again... Thanking you in advance...Best regards !!!

Brother,

I'm sorry but I too searched in the local arms stores as well as online too, not a word about the kangaroo brand of guns, strange.

I had acquired mine about 20 years ago (why am I suddenly feeling real old?) and its still going strong after all the abuse I subjected it to as a young rebel!

Which kangaroos do u own btw?

Dear Supershaji Sir,

I am sincerely grateful for your immediate response and kind concern.

Its a little disheartening to learn that Kangaro make air pistols are no longer traceable in the market, and I know what it takes to go around hunting for one, but I am glad that I have earned a brother in return, which is a reward in itself.

I had purchased my first air pistol, Kangaro make .22, from local shop in my city in the year 1988, and the person behind the counter had convinced me that it was result of an Italian collaboration. It shot perfectly from a distance of 10-15 feet, and I was one happy lad to own and show it off. Unfortunately, my pistol was stolen 3 years back. I had never encountered any trouble with it , except for a broken spring once, and that too was quickly replaced by my local gunsmith with a cherokee one (cut short to suit the requirement).

Although I presently own a couple of air rifles namely IHP 35 & Canon LG 65, that I presume are the better ones from Indian lot, but, I seriously miss the pistol.

I never could make up my mind to find an alternative, primarily because the one I could access in the market were no match for either looks or quality.

I am keeping my fingers crossed, so as to stumble upon some resource through which I can once again be a proud owner of my beloved Kangaro .22.

In case I do find any such source, I will promptly let you know Sir.

Thanks for everything....Best regards
