@Abhi

Nice site but I've already seen victorinox products, they have a lot of blade play. Nevertheless nice Muela's.

@supershaji

Really appreciate your effort! :cheers:
But the reason for not being able to buy directly from international site is because of the damn hdfc bank's netsafe virtual card facility. To make it worse they've been screwing around here and there for the past several months without giving proper response to when they will open their service. I feel like doing this to them ->
:deadhorse:

Also I recently have found my love for the gerber applegate combat folders, especially the 15th anniversary edition one! Take a look at that beauty!

seedha.admi wrote:Dear IFG Members,

You must be thinking why am I giving my review on a website on IFG and particularly in Archery, Knives & other edged tools section. Well to put it simply, OutdoorTravelGear.com is the legitimate partner of Gerber Legendary Knives in India. Their name is listed as the official Indian Reseller on Gerber's website GerberGear.in . Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't know of any other american knife manufacturer that has come to India officially to sell their products. Quite frankly I was shocked to see a knife manufacturing company in India other than Victorinox. So, the big question is how is their performance and service.
Well a few days back on the ebay global easy buy I was searching for gerber prodigy tanto fixed blade knife. I was frustrated about HDFC Netsafe services down for 5 months straight and that I couldn't buy from any international site. Suddenly this weird idea came in the back of my head that I should do a price comparison between gerber's official site and global easy buy. I then googled the gerber's website and to my astonishment there is a indian site for gerber. I quickly opened the site and went to see the contact information. Again, to my surprise there is an Indian company which is official gerber reseller. I googled the company's name in hope to find an online shop & VOILA! I come upon OutdoorTravelGear.com and find the gerber prodigy tanto too. Also I find all the latest multitools and knives sold by gerber. I knew I had just hit the jackpot! Awesomeness came down from my eyes when I saw the applegate fairbairn combat folding knife is also on their listings. I don't know how to describe the feeling but the closest would be to jumping from sky wearing wingsuit and ending up in the playboy mansion's swimming pool full of naked beauties! "DENE WALA JAB BHI DETA, DETA CHHAPPAR FAAD KEEE...!!!!" the song from hera pheri was literally playing in the background for me because for months I wasn't able to purchase a knife because of the HDFC Netsafe problem & Rupee Devaluation and frustration in my mind had really hit the fan. But God is God, he had to pull me out of my limbo(Inception reference), so he shows me temporarily out of stock sign below the item's pic. But still I was happy knowing I had other items 'in stock' to be purchased.
As Soon As I came down from sky high euphoria, the second thoughts started coming to my minds. Thoughts like what if they are bunch of looters & thugs like shopyourworld.com who never refund the amount you paid for an item 6 months back unless you file a complaint in the consumer court (yeah it happened, to my friend) because the price was really low on the site as compared to ebay GEB. So I pick a cheap cap and put them up to test. Guys and Girls, when I say the thing is good, it literally is everytime I say it. The cap arrived in 3 days of my purchase. By that time I had given them a thumbs up for authenticity but still I lacked faith as to will they be able to deliver fast the next time. So I once again put them up to the ultimate test and ordered gerber BG survival canteen water bottle. And SURPRISE SURPRISE they've once again proved themselves! The item came very fast in 3 days, also in a good packaging all nice and fresh. :cheers:

I give 10/10 to outdoor travel and gear. KUDOS!

For more information just visit their website or if you want to see the pics of their store go to tripadvisor's site. They've got some nice pics of their store in Mumbai on the website.

JUST GO BUY A KNIFE OR TWO YOU GUYS IT IS WORTH IT.

im a regular patron, they do stock some very usual, but very useful things. Their delivery time beats any other online store in the country as far as my experience goes. . they actually do deliver "yesterday"... its that fast.

about other counterparts, leatherman also has an official Indian online store too... but strangely, ordering from the US still turns out way cheaper, yes, shipping and duty included. go figure.
@super.shaji - We are happy to hear that you like our services and you have had a good experience with us. We hope to continue doing the same :D. Thank you!!
