Clearly this is a matter of personal preference.brihacharan wrote: > So given the choice between a Black Synthetic Stock & a Wood Finished One... What would you choose / prefer

It so happens that I have at home a tennis racket that belonged to my late father - bought in the 1940s - a heavy wooden one. I bought a "high tech" aluminium frame racket in the 80s that was light. Compared to that the expensive glass fibre racket my son now has is a space age miracle - it is light enough for me to play table tennis with it. Same goes for golf clubs. It is difficult to even find clubs with wooden shafts nowadays and the synthetic ones are far lighter than metal ones. Military weapons often have synthetic stocks nowadays.
On the other hand a luxury car with wooden panelling is more a connoisseur's piece than one with synthetic panelling.
Me? I don't really care. I guess a synthetic stock is fine as far as I am concerned. Wooden stocks which have a pattern etched into them are indicative of a lot of love and labour and are valuable for that reason. They are hand made works of art. I would hold that separate from something I bang about in all types of weather.
