Precihole problem after 1 hour usage

Post by mprasanth » Tue Sep 03, 2013 9:12 am

Hi every one :D . I am prasanth from hyderabad. I recently bought a precihole orion from Aimco :) . The delivery was good and prompt. I was very exited when it came and started out with it to the roof of my building for some test. I had previous experiences with many Indian and imported air rifles but to my surprise the gun would not coćk ie it simply wont load   . I contacted aimco as well as precihole about the problem. They reponded and made me to send the rifle back to Thane. My doubt is there a way I can claim refund for the gun? Who would want a gun which doesent work after just 30 shots :deadhorse: ? Waiting for your valuabile replies. The gun is still at Thane and are due to sent me back in two days.

This would depend on the refund/return policy of the seller and not what other people might opine.

I am just curious. Was the rifle not breaking at all, or was it breaking but the trigger not catching so that loading was being prevented. My Orion requires quite a bit of effort to cock.

These air rifles are covered with One year warranty , right ?
Then you have nothing to worry about .
It's okay , if you disagree with me .
I can't force you to be right .

The trigger was not catching. It does have a six month warranty. But my concern is it misbaheved just after 30 shots.

For a person like me who has had no problems whatsoever and only pleasure from my Orion, this question is impossible to answer. What were the dovetail and trigger issues? My Orion has only one quirk common to all air rifles. The screws need to be tightened after 50 shots or so. But there ar 3 different sizes of Allen Hex screws to be tightened. The smallest one holds the trigger in place and one must check that is is kept tight.

@bennedose the issue was the 11 mm dovetail was not deep enough ,in the initial lot,to hold the mount .But I saw somewhere that has been rectified .I have bitten the bullet and got m Orion from Aimco ,and from the first look I am impressed .

Thanks for the info.

I had an old faltu scope bought in the UK and when I got my Orion I ordered a single piece mount from Dealextreme (set me back 9 dollars!!!) and mounted the scope. The mount and the dovetail must have been fine because the Orion transmitted the recoil to the scope and the crosshairs are now turned to a crazy angle :D

In any case most of my shooting is done less than 20 meters and I am not using a scope.

> The Old Faltu Scope really proved to be one
> Remember Scopes intended to be mounted on AIR RIFLES have to be "AR Rated" as otherwise its crosshairs will assume all sorts of "Crazy Angles", acute, obtuse & even Triangles after a few shots!!!
> After having dabbled with air-rifles for over half-a-century, I can with some conviction say that most air rifles manufactured in India come under "Cottage Industry" unlike elsewhere where they are produced in modern engineering product manufacturing units using sophisticated machinery.
> Just consider this:
1. How many AR manufacturers in India pack a proper brochure / instruction manual / safety instructions that comes with the AR?
2. How many can respond or communicate with customers in case of need for information, getting spares or redress complaints?
3. How many have websites for customer interaction?
4. How many qualified gun-smiths are available to work on your AR?
> NONE - the leaflet that comes with the AR is often a cheap single sheet printed in one color, with poor images...
> Your neighbourhood gun smith is at best a sheet metal worker who makes grills for windows & doors etc.
> In case you call the AR dealer over phone - its a disaster - they don't listen to you nor can you understand what the guy at the other end is trying to tell you.
> Now this is as far as ARs are concerned...
> Pellets are totally a different matter - The manufacturers make them suitable for "Bursting Balloons" at fairs & exhibitions - No more / No less.
> So guys - Feel blessed that this situation is slowly changing for the better... Its a matter of time (not very long)...
> Read books on ARs, Google information, discuss with those more knowledeable than you, practice to sharpen your shooting abilities, join a AR Club...

Brihaji,
PRECIHOLE SPORTS does all the above three points and their response to customers is lightning fast and they go to any length to satisfy their customers. I am saying this from personal experience.
Regards.

ROTFL You want gun and you want brochure also? Kitna mangta hai re tu? Make up your mind. If you want paper, buy newspaper or magazine. If you are a real man, simply buy the rifle.

2. How many can respond or communicate with customers in case of need for information, getting spares or redress complaints?
I can answer this question as soon as someone tells me which air rifle manufacturing co provides address proof along with the air rifle.

3. How many have websites for customer interaction?
Arre? Tu aadmi hai kya pyjama? Website? You are asking about rifle. Not software. Website is for software, marriage, friendship like that like that things.

Brihaji ,

After having gone through loads of opinionated comments on the rifle ,I went ahead with my gut feeling couple a days ago and bought a Orion and boy ,am I satisfied .I haven't driven it through the works but about 20 to 40 pellets and its rock solid. The niggles seem to have been worked out (still want to keep my fingers crossed till a couple of hundred pellets )and the safety is manual (customized as informed by Mr Joy Biswas ) .Its a fine piece of engineering atleast by Indian standards .IHP had been faithfull fordecades towards us impoverished lot but its time to move on.Orion seems to be at least two generation ahead of the grand old IHP in manufacturing standards and has thrown the gauntlet to the other manufacturers .The single most important dimension it has bought to the table apart from a fine rifle and that is "COMPETITION" .We can only applaud ..

IHP had been faithfull fordecades towards us impoverished lot
Beg to disagree. IHP, like Hindustan Motors and Premier Automobiles, had been taking undue advantage of a monopolistic situation and foisting substandard products on the impoverished Indian public. It is only a repetition of history - Maruti and Precihole! Soon some Honda or Nissan or VW will also come along (fingers firmly crossed!).

OK, Ok, I know many of you love your IHPs......... I have an uncle who swears by his Ambassador Mark III and points out defects in his son's Honda Accord  ............

Disclaimer - I don't own Precihole or Maruti or Honda, or any part of them. I don't know the owners of IHP, Hindustan Motors, Premier, etc., and have no personal enmity against them! Nor I am getting paid by or paying any of the above companies or their owners, partners, shareholders, or their family members!
Cheers!
