Can CO2 Fire Extinguisher be used to fill Benj Disco/M Rod?

Hi all,

Filling up PCP Air Gun can be quite a daunting process in India. Hand pump is an option..but a good quality hand pump like "Hill" costs a whooping Rs 20,000-22,000. Another alternative can be SCUBA tanks but again refilling these can be a problem especially in small cities! Here comes the Dual Fuel Air Guns like Discovery, Marauder etc which can be filled either by compressed air or CO2. Now, CO2 Fire extinguishers are fairly easily & cheaply available in India & refilling it is not a major issue. My question is can "it" (the fire extinguisher) be used along with the Benjamin CO2 Fill Adapter (costs $35.99) to safely fill up the double fuel Air Gun? Has any one done it? Is it economical?

Also, how many times a Benjamin Discovery can be filled with a 2Kg Fire Extinguisher before the cylinder requires a refill?
And any rough idea regarding the refilling cost of CO2 Fire Extinguisher?

this adapter will fit only paintbal co2 tanks for co2 extinguisher the thread is rough thread and don't have oring found on paintball tank .Google for co2 fill station in YouTube .

each filling of 2kg cylinder may cost you 400 to 500 inr and will last a year or 5000 shots as rough estimate when used with discovery airrifle

Thanks a ton mate.. I guess a 2kg fire extinguisher setup along with the adapter will prove to be the cheapest filling solution for Benjamin Discovery/Marauder in India.. But finding the correct adapter can be a major issue...Any idea where one can find such adapter? Is it available online?

Btw this is the exact adapter need for Filling co2 in benjamin discovery from co2 extinguisher .hope its helps.
co2 are temperature sensitive and filled only by weight .

If you enter into a contract with a fire extinguisher vendor, they will usually maintain the tank at set intervals, incl. refills, for an additional sum of money. If you want a vendor in Mumbai, I can ask the admin fellas in my office. Otherwise, yellow pages might help.
