My shot gun renewal was due from 1.1.2012 and submitted the relevant papers in Nov 2011. A cooling period up to July 2012 when I was called to give a biodata again zoom to Aug when I was asked to produce a medical certificate that I was healthy enough to wield the weapon. Was called to today to the police armory to see if my weapon was in good condition. The armorer said that mine being a pump there should have been a separate licence, remonstrated that he had certified it earlier as sbbl. He said it is true that it is a sbbl, but it has provision to fire more than one round. I again reminded him that a bolt action also can fire more than one round but that it was not a semi auto. He was skeptical, but condescended to pass the weapon as a sbbl with a rider that the commissionorate clarify the type of licence need for it. I really pity lesser mortals who have to undergo this rigamorale every time of renewal.

Re: Licence Renewal
After spending two years and submitting to all these insulting and unreasonable demands, what do you think is the solution to all these problems?

Re: Licence Renewal
Ditto here. I submitted my licence for renewal in July 2012. The local police acted fast and submitted their OK report. But it is still stuck at the clerical level.Should I file an RTI?

Re: Licence Renewal
Of course you can file RTI to know the status of your renewal application and related details.
