Fixed the LP10 E

Forgive the grin but thats to show my delight. Now let me thank the people in order

1. IFGians Mack, Bodhi, Marksman, Benne et all
2. Ashok Rai and the team at Syndicate Innovations especially Bhavana.
3. Steyr team

Finally as promised, I got a completely new Electronic module from Steyr for my LP 10 E , no charges nothing all done within the promised 3 weeks

Hi bishu,

just for curiosity, do you have to return replaced circuit ? as this switch look very simple you can get it replaced very cheap(may be less than Rs.50/-) and have spare circuit with you.

@ u-vaste, not sure yet, but will update in case they ask for it back. If not then your suggestion is very valid. In fact i had made a round of Lamington Road in mumbai to figure out if anyone could repair it. No one could guarantee that they would without causing further damage. The usual line was "Sir risk aap ka hai agar kharab hua to" since I didnt have a backup arrangement - I didnt risk it then. Now would be a good time to make another attempt

@ Mark , yes my friend and now onwards I am going to consider and operate the switch as "Feather Touch" only

I know little bit of electronics, I used to repair electronic devices, now it is hobby so Judging by circuit https://plus.google.com/photos/11005851 ... banner=pwa
its looks very simple switch replacing should not be risky, I did not suggested you earlier as it would have voided warranty. if you visit lamington again I am sure you will get this switch and it does not look challenging efforts to replace one. switch looks very common you may get it local electronics components shop as well.

It is not at all a risky procedure to replace the switch. Just have it replaced by someone like cell phone service technician because he will have the correct soldering equipment and experience in handling PCBs with SMD components. It is a very simple job.

Dear all
a quick update, Steyr have asked that the defective broken switch be returned to them for their QC purposes . so on hindsight good that I had not got it repaired
