Suresh,
You need to provide more details. Are you planning to take the gun to the US permanently? Are you a US citizen or Indian citizen? Are you planning to take it for repairs? What calibre is it?
Also, please post it in the correct section so that you get enough attention and replies.

Suresh,
Vikram asks some valid questions. Additionally, the city of Chicago has different gun laws than the State of Illinois does and now is not the easiest time to be a gun owner. Not Impossible, but simply more paperwork than in decades past.
Anyway, if you can provide the answers to the first questions that will help give advice on where to start initially.

Suresh,
You were asked a few questions so that correct info can be given and not out of curiosity. When you ask questions, please do take the trouble of providing relevant information too.
In a nutshell, if your gun is of a caliber for which ammunition is made or available in India, you cannot export it. If it falls in the category of an "antiquity", you cannot export it. You can take it out temporarily for repairs or for sporting purposes after procuring permission from relevant authorities.

Chicao has one of the most stringent gun laws and follow the rules to the t. Incase its coming from India then there are more hurdles whether this gun can be exported in the first place!
