Thanks all who commented on this post.
Yes, I am quite proud of her.
I must have done something right in a past life as she turned out quite well.
Amazingly for a girl, she does like guns. I've never felt that lack of a son to share my hobbies with.

.I am sure that guns as tall as her!
What spirit!
Well, she is short, only about 5ft 2in. She prefers to call it being "space efficient" rather than short.
That particular rifle has a longer stock and barrel than normal.
Below is a photo of her holding a more conventional FAL for comparison.

Unfortunately no, I do not have one... yet.Oh so i guessed right.Do you have one?
While the FAL is a rifle that is on my want list, along with a JP Rifles LPR-07, if I was restricted to just one .308 rifle, I would pick the Keltec RFB. Both my daughter and I enjoyed shooting that one a lot.

Re: Cover Girl 4
Large numbers of FAL's were brought in to the US at one time. Including ex German army ones (G1), Israeli and Argentine ones and even L1A1's from Rhodesia. Kits are still available (everything but the receiver) but several US companies make the receivers. In a FAL, the upper receiver is the serial numbered part. FAL barrels are also made in the US by some manufacturers. For years it was a relatively simple do-it-yourself project with the hardest part being to headspace the barrel in the receiver. Century Arms and DSA sell asembled FAL's. DSA's are kind of expensive now but they offer them in a variety of configurations. Some of Century's rifles had quality control issues but the DSA rifles are pretty good. Coonan Arms makes several different types of receivers including the Metric, Argentine and inch-pattern (British and Commonwealth) ones.I notice FAL's are quite popular there.Guys use them to shoot .308's.Even the guy from Box O Truth.
