It is found that foresight is a little
tilted towards right.You can probably fix it by unscrewing the top nut and then realigning it.
Butt is always outstanding in Aimco products.

Though the m300 punched out of shape holes on paper but still u pretty well managed to get
all of them within the black region. But surprisingly all the shots made from the mighty orion
landed on the white region with pretty bad grouping. Is it u or the gun?

And while you're speaking about haste, well, I'm being a good patient boy here, while I'm enjoying my ARs and all, I mainly am learning lots about arms, etc. as I intend to apply for an arms license sooner than later and get myself a few real McCoys, mainly for self and family protection, considering the situation in our country these days. The ARs are doubling as a great primer to advancing into firearms.

about the scattered wide grouping, well, THAT was probably the gun! :p

On a serious note, if you are referring to the picture titled "random shots", with yellow highlighted pellet-holes, then those don't count as I was trying to zero the aiming sights on the Orion.

Will do my due comparison soon.

great, I'll update the specs on the main post with your update!

Give me an hour, and I'll do whatever I can - a few shots in a soap bar, some pictures from all sides, and then you take your call.

I'd suggest, esp. since you cannot make the bank transfer anyway now that it's past 6pm, that you sleep over it. Consider all the info already here and that which I am going to post her in about an hour (as per your request), and take a wiser decision tomorrow morning.

My decision to get the M300, as stated earlier in this thread, as purely experimental, and also that I wanted to get as many .22s here since I can only import .177s easily, and I think I like what I got, it's better than I expected. Since most, if not all, suggestions are to 'Modify' the IHP ARs, and the same can be done to the M300 U/L.

The scope tilt is just my feeling, I could be wrong too, that's why I posted pictures for comments.

From the first picture , one with the red backgound , the front sight is definitely tilted a few degrees clockwise . Maybe while installing the barrel to the receiver , it was over tightened . Also the barrel look a bit bend to the right , but I can't tell for sure , unless I hold the gun in hands and look for myself . But the front sight is defective .

I think there is a One Year warranty on AIMCO products ; if I were you I would have sent the rifle back to AIMCO . But that's easier said than done , because you are in Hyderabad and AIMCO is in Calcutta . E-mail AIMCO with pictures explaining your problem and see how they respond .

Finally , I am not expert with Air Rifles but , I don't think it would be a fair comparison between a Precihole product which has more pellets through it's barrel to a AIMCO product which has lesser pellets through the barrel , and not to mention a defective one . But hey , post the review report anyway . Do another review after the rifle has been rectified and it would be a "Before & After " review report .

Will also check f the barrel is really bent? any particular way to do it DIY?

btw, my Orion hasn't really been used as much as you think, I think by now, I may have used the M300 just as much as the Orion.

So, I guess the game is fair, and as far as M300 being defective, I had especially requested Joy (or who ever I was corresponding with over email regarding my order) to personally check and test the AR before dispatching the order especially since I wouldn't be able to visit Kolkata for minor repairs, and they said they do that anyway; which means, it's a QC passed, therefore, this is the 'quality' to expect, minor superficial issue, we must ignore considering that Aimco is a small scale manufactory.

Will post here once they reply to my complaint.

Soap cake test :- place a bathing soap bar at 10m distance and shoot at it. we can observe the entry and exit behavior or pellet and as well as IF pellet are being hit sideways and hence creating out of shape holes, and kindly please upload more pics of M300 from all angles, aswell as soap cake test.

so YoYo,

while you ponder in bed about which rifle to buy, think about this too - it's a hobby that's going to make you feel good about owning something that's beautiful and powerful, and not necessarily "useful" in any which way you would want to justify

The high power and velocity ARs we want to acquire, honestly, are never, or hardly ever going to be exploited to the extreme, so why not get yourself something that suits your fancy (high power and velocity included), instead of jamming yourself in a dilemma over getting something like what you already own (a break barrel). The IHP would anyway be a bit inferior to the other break barrel, the Orion, which you already own; I would say, go with the Under-Lever, like I did, simply to add variety to the collection / acquisition and add to your experience of using different kinds of beautiful and comparatively 'safe' weapons.
