I don`t own any CO2 airguns - I don`t own any airguns at all - and I don`t know anyone who has a CO2 airgun so I won`t come across any 88gm CO2 cartridges but I`ve heard of this thing called the internet and understand you can search for things on there ........................ Well what do you know ? You CAN search on the internet ! :

It doesn`t appear that having been used makes any difference to the length.

Actually, i wanted a picture of the punctred top of a used cartridge, cos I've found a dealer who can supply CO2, and i need to make sure he knows what he's talking about.

I suspect that you won`t be able to see anything much.
Even if you are able to refill the 88 gm canister it`s still going to look damn stupid stuck out of the end of the butt ...... unless you make up some sort of spacer to go between the stock and the butt `pad` ..... which doesn`t look too great anyway as the manufacturers ( Umarex - the rifle isn`t actually made by Walther ) have already had to extend the length of the butt pad to allow the 88 gm canister to fit. Compare pictures of the current rifle with the 88 gm canister to the older version which took the 2x12gm bulbs and you`ll see what I mean.

Yup, i saw the older version has a really sleek profile buttpad. the new one's huge.
Any suggestions on which pellets i should use, (when i get the gun)?

lol. You`re really determined aren`t you ?
I`ve no idea about pellets but there are plenty on the forum who will be able to make suggestions.
With only 600fps to play with I doubt the heavyweights will be ideal - probably target pellets as the rifle is reckoned to be accurate. Why not do some web searches yourself - `Best pellets for Walther co2 lever action` or similar.

Do you know anyone in the UK, Europe, the USA or Canada who could look out for a good used example of the earlier, 2x12gm CO2 capsule powered Walther lever action for you ?

No, don't think so.

Have family and friends overseas. However, we Indians are extremely scared of being mistaken for terrorists, so my suggesting that they look for an air rifle for me, and subsequently bring it or post it to me will most likely induce a stroke or cardiac arrest.

Rest assured, grumps, that fine looking piece of art shall be mine, and the first round fired shall be dedicated to you.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I'm a gun nut, especially WWII, American Civil War and the Lever Action Repeater Rifles of the 1890s.
When I joined this forum 2 years ago, I was overjoyed at the amount of information available here, and the friendliness of the members.
It was then that I, to my great surprise, found the Walther Lever Action .177.
I couldn't believe that I actually had a chance to own a working replica of one of my favourite guns ever.
I asked and found out I needed a Rifle club membership to import the piece.

I should add here that I really don't like the spring-powered break barrel airguns available in India,
They are probably the reason I didn't even think of taking up shooting as a sport, as I had a blinkered view and thought that one had to use those guns.
Thus, no rifle club membership.

Now, 2 years later, I've managed to save up for the rifle, only to find out, to my dismay, that the rifle now takes 88g CO2 canisters which aren't available in India.
You can imagine my dejected state.
I was all geared up, and ready to go get my membership, even put up with the spring-powered guns, so that I could finally import the rifle.

Thank you for reading patiently so far.
My query is this.

Does anyone here own one of these guns?
Are there any adapters available to use 12g canisters with this gun?
Would anyone be willing to part with the rifle, if they have it, especially the 2X12g version?

@lukeatme; I myself am a great fan of lever action rifle, have been a huge fan of cowboy movies so the choice of rifle comes naturally. Lever action rifle are very fast for operating compared with any other kind of rifles, when I got the license for NP bore rifle the first thing that came to my mind was buying a lever action rifle but all the rifles that were available from as far as i could go were generally in odd(by this i mean not available in India) bore so I settled for a 30.06 bolt action rifle.
I myself am planning to buy that same Walther lever action airgun which you have mentioned for which I would is good news for you as well the 88gm Co2 canister is available in india you can contact Bawa Impex at Daryaganj New delhi. So go ahead and buy you favourite piece.

Hi guys,

I finally have some good news, so wanted to give you an update.

Firstly, I have finally gotten my rifle club membership!!! After about 5 months of running around for Police verification for membership to the South Calcutta Rifle Club, i gave up and went the the North Calcutta Rifle Club. I know lots of you guys suggested this earlier, and even offered to help, and I'm stupid to have not taken your advice earlier. NCRC was a breeze, and now I'm a member there. So hopefully, I'll meet some of you guys there sometime. Thanks, @saptarshi, for the suggestion and offering to help.

Secondly, thanks, @ramandeep, for suggesting Bawa Impex. However, when I got in touch with them last year, they didn't have the 88gm C02 canisters. However, I suddenly got a surprise text from Mr Bawa a month ago, saying the canisters were available. I ordered them immediately, and have them now.

Thirdly, @grumpy, i just want to say thanks for your support and guidance, and i'm sorry i've been off the grid for so long.

And now, Ladies and Gents, my new question:

Has anyone here ever ordered airguns from Europe (specifically Germany) ?
The Walther Lever Action has 2 new models out: one is the old Wells Fargo in 88gm format, but the second, is called the Black Dust Edition.
These 2 new editions are not yet available in any of the American sites. They are however available on the European sites. ( Pellpax, McAvoy Guns, Waffen-Schlotter)

However, the Brit sites , Pellpax and McAvoy aren’t willing to ship them to India.
Only Waffen-Schlotter said shipping is not a problem. Their only hang up they have is that they don’t know about the airgun import laws in India.
Can someone please tell me where I can find the Customs Notification for airguns, so that I can send it to them?
Also, does anyone know if there has been any changes in the Import and Customs laws recently?
