Check out the scope prices here

Those who want to buy scopes may consider getting them from CDNN Investments - their latest catalogue prices, espcially for BSA air rifle scopes and other Japanese brands

The link isn't opening at my end.

Be careful with the BSA scope range. People weren't happy with most scopes in the range when they were released about four or five years ago.

P.S.: Took its own sweet time but it finally opened. Nice toys but I wonder if they will accept a credit card from India.

Mack The Knife,

SWMBO may be travelling to India in a few weeks - if that happens, I could send what you want with her but someone would have to collect it at Chennai/Vellore.

Othwewise, I will certainly be in Mumbai in Jan - a good young friend is getting married and that is something that I shall not miss.

Just let me know, buddy,

Mehul

Thanks, Mehul but I wouldn't want her to carry a riflescope under the present conitions.

Will have another look regarding slings and such and let you know.

Thanks.

Can a person take Rifle scope as personal baggage to India for his own lic rifle? In this case its 30-06 Remington or Winchester? If its possible any recommendations?

Thanks

Yes, Navdeep, it is possible.

You don't have to state what it is for but if you must, claiming that it is for an airgun will cause less of a flutter than saying it is for a .30-06. Not that most Custom officers know what a .30-06 is.

What's the budget?

Need few recommendations decent top of line and best buy kind. I have not seen the rifle and I can stretch their budget by contributing. The person is in Canada right now.

Thanks for the feedback

Mehul,
Downloaded the pdf document. The rifles have an attractive price tag too. a 'basic' .22 lr rimfire for $140 is a real bargain.

Hi Navdeep,

Should have asked this before but what is the primary purpose? The calibre suggests it would be for hunting. If so, what does he intend shooting? That will tell us what is the average range encountered and we could suggest a scope with the appropriate magnification.

I don't suppose night hunting is permitted in Canada, is it?

Mack The Knife

P.S.: Could you please clarify where this scope is to be used? First post says India and the second post says Canada.

To clarify the gun is in India and person who own is on a very short visit to Canada. He will be using it for general shooting not intended for hunting unless…. Regarding range lets go for low to mid. I frankly dont know much of .3006 range, its not required for upper limit.

A decent scope nothing fancy would do.
Thanks

Pran,

Believe it or not, the price is about right for a budget 22 lr over here. No comparison to Indian prices.

I bought my Marlin 60 semi auto 22 for $ 100 in a post hunting season sale at Gander Mountain a year ago.

Cheers!

I have no idea what you mean by general shooting. Perhaps you should atleast ask him what specs he wants.

In the meantime have a look at these:

Bushnell Elite 4200
3-9x40 $239.00
2.5-10x40 $335.00

Bushnell Elite 3200
3-9x40 $174.00
2-7x32 $169.00
3-10x40 $179.00

Mehul,
A sad reminder of us paying a lot more for shoddy 'ordinance factory' fire arms in India :(
