Old Under Lever air rifle
Hi all,
Help is required,,
I am posting some pictures of an old under lever air rifle .It is not in working condition and I really dont know if I could arrange for spares
The butt was broken ,,,,I got it fixed, with a different butt of another gun
At some places ,on the rifle, 13 is written, and on the trigger ,79 is written
The name of the Manufacturer is not clear, although I tried to scrub it and make it visible,,,but my efforts went in vain
I wish if some inputs could be provided regarding this Air rifle
Regards

Re: Old Under Lever air rifle
I replaced the piston washer and now the rifle is in working condition,,,,,
The power is quite good ,,and the range has increased a lot,,,,
I was able to break a earthen pot at a distance of 30 mts easily
Regarding the origin of the rifle,,I had written a mail to Pyramyd Air Sales Dept.,I received a reply from from them stating that the rifle is old and the exact information could be arranged by Bryan and Associates, for assistance in repair, or ordering parts for this air gun. They are specialists with the antique airguns by Benjamin, Crosman and Daisy. ( http://www.bryanandac.com/ )
I have written to them and I hope to receive a positive reply from them

Seems to me a old Webley clone. It has the same underlever cocking mechanism and tap loading system. Refer to WHB Smith's Gas, Spring and Air Guns for details.

Re: Old Under Lever air rifle
Thanks for your reply sir,,, Why I am saying that this gun is of foreign make( as i believe ), is because there is lot of precision involved, I may be wrong though,, The trigger assembly is compact and every minute possible care has been taken in the construction of the gun,,,, The cocking lever is smooth and very less effort is applied to load,,,,dr.jayakumar wrote:friend,i am sure its indian make and not very old as you think it is.no foreign made(antique) airgun had vented barrel tip.this one looks like a canon lg airrifle.

I have seen old Indian Air rifles but have never come across a gun that is so perfect and precise,,,,
The name of the gun ends with 50,,,as only these two characters are visible on the end of the tube
I wish to know about the canon lg air rifle ,which you have mentioned, as no exact information is there on the net,,,,
I would be obliged
thanks

Re: Old Under Lever air rifle
the cannon 65 is surprisingly a very accurate rifle. At 25 to 30 mtrs I enjoy shooting my cannon 65 .22 more than my RWS. It's so accurate one can hit bottle caps at 25 mts most of the time....a good tuning, and like the IHP its a pleasure to shoot.
I don't know about others...but I get great thrill when I shoot an Indian made AR that is performing beautiful....it's like falling in love with a old hag, she's not refined nor a beauty.....but love prevails
