Need help with zeroing a scope on the Orion
Hi - I bought a fx 3 12x44 scope today and was trying to zero it at 10 yards, however ran out of elevation and I am still about 2 inches below the bullseye. I am using a hawke single piece mount on the Orion
Any help is appreciated

Is there a way that you can put a shim under the rear of the mount? Or reverse the mount and see if that makes a difference?

> In your case the problem could be:
1. Probably your scope needs "Shimming" (Shims should not be more than 1mm thick - Best is to use 35mm photo film)
2. There could be a Barrel Droop in your Orion - Have it checked.

Re: Need help with zeroing a scope on the Orion
Thanks - I don't think it's a case of barrel droop, since it accurate with open sights. I shimmed the rear and seems to have resolved the issue, however it's still at about more than 3/4 of elevation.
I will try adjustable mounts that correct this issue. Do you think it could be cause I am trying to zero at 10 meters?

I zeroed at 3x magnification using a rest.
Yes, very nice video, helped a lot!
I am using gsmith wadcutter pellets, the box doesn't say how many gr it is

Another question, how does magnification matter? The cross hair intersection doesn't change with magnification only the other 4 aiming points, but for zeroing we use the cross hair intersection, don't we?

friend fx 3 12x44 will not zero at 10yrds my guess; you should try at 30 yrds.
