I fail to understand why people who do not know "which end of the gun fires" are at the helm of deciding on Gun Control
Imagine the lady in the video clip saying 'I do not know what a "Berrel Shroud"is
In my considered opinion people at the helm of Gun Control should comprise of:
1. An Arms Expert
2. A Social psychologist
3. A lawyer
Lastly an opinion poll just to get an idea as to how a common citizen feels about Gun Control.

Gentlemen, you fear that which you do not know. These people don't know guns, hence they fear them. Like small kids fear the dark.

You and me, we know guns (I know the theory, at least!). So we are not scared of the guns. Maybe of the people behind the guns, but never the guns. A bit irrational, isn't it, to be scared of something non-living, with no mind of its own! I might as well be scared of laptops! But then, phobias are just that - irrational!

The funny (or the tragic) part is that the people who fear decide to regulate. It's like a person suffering from vertigo deciding to flatten all mountains. Unfortunately, these are the people in power!

There goes my only reason for wanting to migrate to the US!!!

Obama's home town "Chicago" has one of the strict gun-laws in the country !!!!!

15-year-old girl who performed at Obama’s inauguration festivities shot dead amid Chicago’s most deadly January in a decade

Hadiya belonged to the King College Prep High School band, which performed at several inaugural events in Washington, D.C. She also played volleybal for the school

According to the Chicago Tribune, the group of teenagers shot at are not cooperating with police.

The newspaper says 42 Chicagoans have been killed this month, the deadliest January since 2002.

Chicago police Superintendent Garry McCarthy met with U.S. President Barack Obama and other police chiefs this month in Washington, and he has expressed regret for the gun violence in his city, although he said meeting with some of the country’s “brightest minds” in Washington provided little advice.

Convicted rapist organizes gun control demonstration at Dayton gun show; Media fails to note his sex offender status

This past weekend, a small group of perhaps a dozen protesters gathered outside Dayton's Hara Arena to protest the sale of modern sporting rifles at Bill Goodman's Gun and Knife Show.

From the article:

"We know that guns are being sold on the floor inside Hara Arena illegally" said Jerome McCorry. "No background checks no identification of any kind."

McCorry said "AK-47s and M16s are not gonna be used for hunting, they're not going to be used to protect anybody. These are the weapons that are coming back and being used in mass murders and mass killings."

After reading the article, a Buckeye Firearms Association supporter decided to contact McCorry, the apparent protest organizer, to inform him about the inaccuracies in his statements about firearms (it isn't illegal for private individuals to sell a gun at the show without a background check, people aren't selling M16s or fully-automatic AK-47s at Hara Arena, modern sporting rifles are used for hunting, gun shows are rarely used by criminals as a source for guns, rifles [of any type] are used in murders far less than fists or baseball bats, etc.).

The supporter quickly found more than he bargained for. A simple Google search for Jerome McCorry reveals that the man trying to tell the public what weapons they should be allowed to own is a convicted felon.

Newtown Calls for Armed School Officers

The Newtown Board of Education wants more armed police officers in the town's four elementary schools after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary.

Last night, they decided to ask the town to approve the request to include one additional full-time Newtown police at each of the elementary schools in next year's budget.

Members of the board will meet today with state and federal officials about obtaining additional funding for security.

“Our parents are demanding of us that things are made safe and secure and certain measures are put in place,” Chairwoman Debbie Leidlein said. “So we’re being very thoughtful.”

Several police officers have been stationed at all Newtown schools since the Dec. 14 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, where 20 children and six staff members were killed.

Those officers will remain at the school through the remainder of the school year, but the budget for the next fiscal year funds only resource officers at middle and high schools.

Parents said security means more than a police presence.

“My main concern is with accessibility to these school, said Neil Johnson, a parent of two Newtown students. “On December 14th, that was the main bare-boned reason that occurred.”

“After what happened in our community, I just think we should go over and above and provide a shining example for the rest of the world and protect our kids,” said resident Donna Lorenz.

MILLER: Media calls Obama's shotgun a 'rifle

Major print media outlets have been incorrectly writing that a photo of President Obama shows him firing a "rifle" instead of a shotgun.

The New York Times on Saturday was forced to print this correction: "An earlier version of this article misstated the type of weapon that President Obama fired in a photo released Saturday by the White House. It was a shotgun, not a rifle."

The New Yorker story about the Aug. 4 photo says this: "The White House’s attempt to portray President Obama as a gun user may have had unintended consequences today, as a newly released photo of Mr. Obama firing a rifle at Camp David set off a panic of gun buying across the US."

The Drudge Report has this link: "AP calls it 'a rifle cocked in his left shoulder'..." The Associated Press has since fixed the mistake in the story -- without issuing a correction. The wire service story now says that "Obama is seen holding a gun against his left shoulder."

A rifle shoots one round with a single bullet straight, while a shotgun fires a slug with many pellets that scatter in a wide area. Skeet, which Mr. Obama said he shoots "all the time," is done with a shotgun, as are the similar shooting sports trap and sporting clays.

The CEO of Browning, Travis Hall, told The Washington Times on Saturday that the shotgun is one of his company's firearms made for clay shooting.
