Holland and Holland - Rare 12 bore

We are in possession of a rare Holland and Holland custom 12 bore and looking for information that any experts may be able to provide. It is a legal heirloom in excellent condition.

What kind of information are you looking for? More details, photos of all the markings on the gun including proofmarks on the barrel flats and serial number would help.

It would be very helpful if you could first tell me how to verify make/model/year etc if that is possible. Any information on the changeable barrels would also be helpful. Thank you much.

You check by looking at the makers name, proofmarks, serial number etc. Again, there once was a Purdey for sale on IFG, with makers name, British proof marks, serial number etc. And it was a fake.Difficult to tell without looking at the photos re what changeable barrels you are talking about.Does it have a spare barrel set?If you have the serial number, you can email H&H for details. They will get back to you. But, again, serial number could be faked too.

Thank you for the response. I am pretty sure that this is an original, especially judging from the quality of the various weapons that my family has owned over the century and their keen interest in these areas. Unfortunately, I am not that much of an enthusiast. Attaching some pictures for your perusal. ok, sorry, but I am unable to attach photos, as the board gives me an error about the attachment quota.
