Dyna air rifle?

Post by Ahmaq » Fri Feb 01, 2013 8:27 pm

Hello, it's my post here, but I do know a bit about air guns.

I own a SDB model 35 which shoots .22" inaccurately to say the least. That was my first air gun and sadly it has seen the best of its days.

I wanted to purchase another air rifle, this time one which was better than the SDB. I saw a gun made by "Dyna" from Kolkata, not Diana. I was wondering if anybody has had good experiences with them or are they as bad as SDB?

The only redeeming feature about it was that it had a scope rail and as I have a dovetail scope lying around, I thought I might give it a shot. However, I was a bit wary about wasting my money, you know, just in case.

I've heard good things about IHP / National 35 and I was wondering if they have scope rails.

In summation,
  • Has anybody heard of or tried Dyna?
  • Do IHP / National 35 air rifles have scope rails?
  • Which gun would you recommend that also has a scope rail?
  • Are there any air rifles with magazines that can be bought?
My budget is flexible and around Rs 5000/- give or take a few thousand according to the awesomeness of the gun.

Good luck Ahmaq.

The IHP models 25/35 are NOT scope able on the stock, but I'm sure we can aways modify, jugaad is what desis are good at.

FYI, there's a new player in the market by name Precihole Sports. Seem like a decent co with a vision. You can google it up

Yeah, I did. I saw the Orion, which I liked, but I didn't find it to be worth the Rs 9000/- it demanded.

Thanks for your reply :D

I understand that we're not used to paying premium buck for Indian products, especially to brand new players.

The point is, there's hardly any choice, the only (sub-)standard Indian air-gun manufacturer is IHP, and now we have Precihole Sports, who's yet to prove itself, seems like they are improvising well based upon customer feedback, makes sense not be a guinea pig.

Would love to know which model you've finally decided to go for?

Keep us posted.

Yeah, will do.

I'll be meeting with an air gun trainer (he trained none other than Gagan Narang) in April and will buy what he recommends.

I would love to get an air gun imported, but the hassle at Customs deters me a fair bit :'(

I'm from Aligarh, but I'll be going to my uncle's house in Banda and will meet the trainer there. He may even have imported air guns :)
