Re: IOF .22 revolver
Hi FN-Five -Seven,
Your decision to own a .22 is accurate. Unless you plan to play a 'Rambo', it should suffice. A revolver is a weapon of defence and unless you are firing at a 'Gabbar Singh' who wants to claw ahead, no matter what. Its the first shot fired, that should work as a deterrent, that too, may be in the air. Its sensible not to have IPC 302 looming. Know of a few cases where some friends have their weapons confiscated for the last 5 years by the courts.
I use Winchester ammo and have had no issues. My dad has an army issue browning 9 mm, which is a great gun, but is bulky, heavy and a difficult one to fire. All pistols are prone to jamming and at a critical juncture it really might just fail you. Revolvers don't ordinarily jam so have no worry about throwing it at your target.
Be very sensible in your decision and define your reasons for the purchase. Mentally go over the situations in the last few years where you might have used the weapon and to what effect. Whether to kill or to injure or just to scare are the split second decisions you might have to take and that shall have far reaching ramifications for your self.
Enjoy your decision.

You can get much farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.

As on 13/01/2013 , it's Rs 43,359.70 ( including taxes ) at Ishapoer Factory (W.B.) for a IOF .22 revolver .
As for at the gun dealers , it's as much as you let them wring out of you ( both IOF & Imported )
