Re: Beretta fs 81
5 years back i was offered an 81 fs in nickel finish brand new for 11 lakhs, my advise to all members is to stay clear of any fs model available unless the documents are checked properly, the weapon i had finalised was for 28l which was a completely unjustified price, the only reason i had considered the deal was because the dealer and his father had confirmed that the weapon had been imported into the country by an IFS officer and the paper work was all there . when the time came to payup i demanded to see the paper work and was sent two pages which did not have the arms lisence no or persons name only a copy of the same permission from delhi lisencing, eventually the dealer admitted that the weapon was imported from bhutan by some army fellow and he did not have the permission from DGFT either. The dealer is JANTA/ORIENT ARMS in meerut. I have been informed that the DRI is sending notices to dealers who have in the past sold weapons from Bhutan asking for details of the persons the weapons have been further sold to as the DRI claims that the weapons have been imported illegally. There seems to be a good chance that these weapons will eventually confiscated.

Re: Beretta fs 81
A pleasant surprise to know S&W made model 18 with .22 WMR as well. I am very interested to know if the revolver was originally sold as .22/.22WMR or had a spare cylinder altered to take WMR round.marksman wrote:I myself am thinking of selling both my handguns which are a beretta 81bb and s&w model - 18-3, .22 revolver with an additional .22 magnum cylinder and buying a beretta 81 fs cheetah or a walther pp and ppk.
Will post pics soon.
Cheers
Viraj.
A friend intends buying used but as new mod.18-4 in the U.S.and your input will help him seek a WMR cylinder as well for it.

Aloha,
Nothing wrong with the 80 series guns.
The Wife and I have 2 M-84 in 380, M-85 380, M-86 380 and a M-87 in 22.
I use the 85, 86 and 87 to teach basic handgun classes.
They are very popular with both Men and Women due to their smallish size
and mild recoil
The 81 is not too popular in the US.
I'd get one only to complete my collection of 80 series Berettas
If you do get it, After cleaning and before re-assembly, make sure that the rails are
well lubed. Otherwise you may have function problems.
Berettas do not like to be shot "dry" with out lube.
Any good oil will do. Some guys use synthetic motor oil.

Its a great gun , but glock is launching on 27 of this month . So don’t buy this for high rate , after that prices will fall drastically.
