Well, the customs are going to give you a hard time. First, you have to collect the documents from the Courier service who ship your Gun (the documents are about your consignment etc, and you HAVE to write a formal letter to the company stating that you are responsible for your consignment and the company bears no responsibility for it. Once you have your documents, you have to go to the customs, and they'll take a lot of your time. if they approve, you must get an NOC from the Police, which again, may take a lot of persuasion. If and when they approve, you go back to the customs, and pick up your consignment!

Please note that this is only if you are not willing to spend money on a clearing agent, and will take quite a lot of your time. Also note that the NOC is Rs.303, and the storage fee is Rs.6 per kg per day. if it is 3.5 kilos, and it is stored for a week, you have to pay 6x7x3.5 which is 147+303, which is Rs.450.
