Need Advise - Want to buy best Airgun in UK
Hi All,
I need some expert adivse regarding to buy an air rifle from London(UK). Im going to UK for a short term onsite work by Nov 25th. I would like to carry a air rife while coming back to India ( Bangalore ).
I read the topic Importing the airgun by personal baggage and understood well.
Now my question is where can i get a good airgun in London and the best model ?
I heard there is no restriction in calibre 0.177 or 0.22 , is it true in personal baggage?
I m ready to pay more or less, but would like to buy a powerful.. sexy airgun with scope
( Pls note i may sell it after some weeks or month).
so please give me your valuable advise . cheers ..
Thanks in Advance
Arun

They are confiscating .22's these days so best stick to .177 cal. Try Woody's of Wembley, (look up ctc details in the local yellow pages), good people to deal with. No one in UK will sell you any air-rifle with more than 12 ft lbs power, unless you have the required FAC (their equivalent of an arms license for a rifle) - so forget about buying a POWERFUL air-rifle and just focus on what you consider "sexy". Also there is now a restriction (in UK) on export of variable power scopes or scopes with magnification more than 4x, so keep that in mind while deciding which scope to buy. In the affordable range of scopes I'd suggest a 4x32 Nikko Sterling AirKing, good value for money and they can handle the unique recoil produced by air guns.

if you are going to sell after a month why take the trouble of buying it.you can go for something available within our country when you come back.there are so many SEXY imported airguns circulating here.especially in banglore and mumbai.

If you don't intend to use it, why are you bothering with bringing one in? Are you planning to trade in them?
